If you don't have a water head bike they should come right off. 1 bottom bolt/clamp and 2 bolts at the top.

I take mine on/off all the time. You'll just need to wiggle it around the brake.

I'm guessing you might be talking about a 2014 CVO Limited.  If that's correct, you have a radiator and overflow bottle in that right lower so that will complicate the process.  Are you prepared to drain the cooling system, disconnect the coolant line, remove the lower, then reinstall everything and refill the cooling sytem, then purge the system to remove all the air?  If not, I'd suggest having a dealership do it.  Or at least buy the shop manual to help you through the process.  The actual lower is secured to the engine guard pretty much the way they always have been, with a clamp at the bottom and another hidden under the top cap.

Why are you trying to remove the lower btw?

Jerry, can you remove the lower and let the radiator/fan asm "hang" without disconnecting the hoses? I want them off to paint the inside of the fairings.
Would not be riding the bike during this, just want the lowers off for a few days and would rather not have to drain, bleed, take chance on air pocket.

I really don't know the answer to that one Don.  If there is enough "slack" in the hoses to allow the radiators to be moved slightly aft so you can fish the lowers out, you will still want to find a way to support the radiators other than just letting them hang on the hoses.

You might want to talk to someone who actually works on these things for a living.  If anyone knows a shortcut, it's the guy working on flat rate. :)

Removing the lowers is no problem on the water bikes, simply take out the bolts and slide them off, Radiator/fans/water resivor all just stay where they are without a hassle.
I took mine off today to paint the inside of them, harley has done away with the slip-on thread clips and is using brass thread-0-lets in the blind screws. The two screws that held the left upper cap on were overtightened and had blue lock-tite and were already stripped by the orig tech, when I put a screwdriver on them they just spin. That one i can work thru without much problem, but on the right side they stripped both of the lower radiator/cover bolts. They also just spin, but they are installed from the grill side to the radiator side and there is no way you can get a grip on them to hold them as they are "hidden", only cure I can see is to drill the head off the screws and then someway "bond" the thread-o-let before reassembling. This really sucks and has wasted a few hours. So a ten minute job is now taking hours.
