Here we go........
« on: December 19, 2006, 07:16:06 PM »

Took it in to the dealer to have the following mods done:
1. Dyno as stock
2. 1800-0434 (rinehart) true duals
3. SERT
4. K & N HD 800
5. Dyno tuned after 2,3,4.
6. Heated Grips (Moulded rubber/chrome)
7. Floor Boards relocated forward (Im 6'2" and need a little more reach).
8. Ironside 360 degree adjustable highway pegs
Will post pictures when I pick it up next week. If you are worried about warranty issues because of SERT/true duals, dont have this done. Dealers dont like messing with the stock setup on the FLHRSE3 with the pressure The MoCo applies on them. I rather take the chance than ride a Harley that sounds like a sewing machine.  [smiley=drink.gif]

Way to go kojak! Good luck with your mods. I'd love to see the numbers when you're thru. How many miles are on it now? How's the heat situation on yours? Where do you mount those highway pegs on the moustach engine guards? You've solidified my feeling on the SERT. I'll stick w/PC and keep my 2 Year Warranty. I understand how you feel though. There's not much choice, I guess, if the dealer's doing the work. Enjoy and let's see it when you're thru! Happy (SERK) Harleydays!  ;)  Hoist!  8-)

1000 mile  service is also being done. No heat issues. Main reason for SERT vs pc was ability to tune more accurately.

Thanks kojak. You know why I'm using the PC though? ;) I figured, I'd ride it with the pipes, A/C and PC for 2 years and do what I want after. I'll have a real good idea of what I want out and what it needs after many thousands of miles. Good luck. Yours should run great when it's done! What about the Highway pegs? I thought I might have to change the guards to stock because of the highway pegs and fog lights. Curious what you're doing with yours? Thanks Hoist!   8-)

Looking forward to the before and after.

I still have plenty of miles before the 1000 mile break-in service.  Will consider all options in the meantime.  Will note this, and recognize I'm in the minority, but after years of pounding and thunderous exhaust on several big twins, I'm kinda liking the stock look and exhaust note.  Nice and low.  But I know I'll need to do something to unstrangle the lean settings.

Hoist, I'm going to try highway pegs on the mustache and see how they work, I like a wide straddle so it might work. Will be picking it up a week from tomorrow (out of town on vacation) and will post results and pictures. :)

Hoist,

I added the passenger floor boards and moved the pegs up front to the mustache gaurd and they work perfect.  I'm 6' 1" and also like to be a little wider than the mustache allows.  I'll try to take some pics this week and learn how to post them.  I'm loving everything about this bike so far except the exhaust and windshield.  Rinehart duals still on back order, clearview shield should be here next week.  When the duals get in the dealer will install them along with the K&N filter and SERT.  If something happens on the road I'll probably be screwed but my home dealer will take care of it.

Jim,
Try Eastern Performance in Gambrills, MD. They have the RH instock for $759.59 vs $899 list. My dealer was backordered into Jan, I just had them shipped (free).

Hey Jim. Good deal! Sounds like you got it all together. Bet you can't wait to get the engine set up right. Let's hear how you like the package when you're thru. And of course, pics! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] What did you have to buy for the passenger boards? That looked like a pricey package (chrome mounts, boards, inserts,?) How bad was the damage? Looked to me like about a $500 proposition. I wanted to do that, but for $500, she'll use pegs! The Clearview guy seems real nice. For a couple of extra bucks they'll make it a custom height. Glad you're digging the bike!

A great Holiday to you and yours! [smiley=drink.gif] Hoist!  8-)

Hoist & Kojak2,

I already paid the stealer for the rineharts so I guess I'll wait.  If they are not in shortly after the 1st of the year I'll try to put a little pressure on them to get them somewhere else.  It's been pretty cold here so I still only have 400 miles and I'm hoping to put it on the dyno at the same time as the install.

MSRP for the floor board set up is about $500.  When I purchased the bike I received 20% off all adds so only payed $400 for the boards.

The next add is the hoppe fairing for the longer trips.  I'm working with painters to see if they can match the paint before I order it though.

Hope ya'll have a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

Jim

anybody ever hear anything about these ??

http://store.cobrausa.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=60&Category_ID=11

I talked to the rep about these with Gasrat during the International motorcycle show here last weekend. They were really talking them up but when questioned on how they work with the O2 sensors he was a bit lost. Tried to tell me there was no need to dyno, best thing since sliced bread, better than the PCIII, and Race tuner etc, etc....I questioned him further and found that they are really nothing more than the HD race fueler. You can only add fuel, not other adjustments.
