I have an '01 FLHTCUI and I took the fuel door lock and rotated it 180 degrees. It no longer functions as a lock but still looks the same. I made this modification because I was worried if I needed fuel and didnt have my key along I couldnt open the door unless I found someone with a key. It still maintains the appearance of being lockable. PS Im looking forward to gettting my Yellow '05 this spring!!! [smiley=drink.gif]
I had to go and look at my bike but I got you now. I may have read that on one of your previous posts. It sounds like a good idea because I have never liked the fact that I have to remove my key (hence turning everything off) to get at the tank cap. I also read the comments about water or sugar in your tank but feel that would be unlikely where I hang out.
I think our ignition key is different in the UK. I think that you have one like I used to have on my '84 evo Glide Classic. Where you can unlock the barrel and then turn the ignition module to run or accessories, etc.
