« on: September 29, 2014, 12:20:30 AM »

Can someone help me with the correct part number for my 2005 flhtcse2- seeg compensator? Its been about 30000 miles and its time for a new one. Thanks ahead of time

Van, you may be exercising an overabundance of caution here.  The comp assemblies on these older bikes aren't like the newer comps we keep seeing so much problem with.  Our old compensators ran for a very long time without giving much issue.  A "just-because" or "playing-it-safe" replacement at only 30,000 miles is probably unnecessary.

Having said that the part numbers are:

40384-91 for the spring cover
40392-91 for the comp nut
40299-83 for the slider
40266-85 for the extension

There is no kit part number for the various pieces that make up the old style compensator.  They never crapped out often enough to necessitate a kit.

As Twolanerider suggests, changing out the compensator is not necessary on 05 bikes. It already has the best unit HD ever made, and will likely outlast the bike. What you can check is the chain adjuster puck and replace if worn. My bike has the same comp, with 98K klms on it being tugged around by an S&S T124 for the last 7 years, 60K, it looks like new yet.  fwiw Buffalo

The '05 SEEG has 65k on it, I didn't know it has a compensator :nixweiss: (compared to the '09 :huepfenlol2:)
