rear fairing hole
« on: October 04, 2014, 09:45:28 PM »

Hey all,

I removed the passenger seat to slim down the silhouette  and now there is a hole in the rear fairing . . . anybody have any good ideas what to do with the hole?

Reinstall the seat screw in the hole.

I've seen someone use a skull bolt in the hole, like the ones used for the license plate (part number 94546-05).

Yes, it looked really nice, low profile and clean.

I've seen someone use a skull bolt in the hole, like the ones used for the license plate (part number 94546-05).

I had to cut about 1/4 inch off to prevent the bolt from making contact with the rear wheel and used a plastic washer to protect the underside of the fender.

Could not remember who posted that idea before, looks really good Cam.  I will probably do that to mine as well.

Harley makes a chrome "button" that screws in and covers the whole thing. I don't have the part number handy but I tried to attach a picture. The picture was not taken for this but you can see it on top of the fender.
