On another note, the MoCo has denied warranty work on this bike due to the aftermarket horn and paint.

And... the party to whom the bike was returned promptly advised the insurance company that the stolen bike was now back in their possession, and that all monies paid out on the theft claim would be returned!

Which back in 1972 would have been around $400.00 if it was even insured.

How does it go 42 years without being found. Unless it was never registered and the person who had it wanted to get rid of it or sell it...hence the reason for the transport to Australia. The original vin has to still be intact on the bike for the ID to have been made especially since is was painted a different color...is my guess...

Most of the folks who buy stolen stuff know it's stolen, regardless of how long ago... It most likely got found through a customs inspection.
