Oh My Goodness!  That is horrible. I am so sorry that you guys are getting hit so hard - again, so soon after the last one.  This has got to be trying every one's patience beyond belief.

Everyone must have gone early or stayed home, looks nasty as they report the "all weather" airport is closing again.

As dangerous and inconvenient as snow is, it sure is beautiful.  We're wishing you guys out there the best.  I know if I was out there, I'd have stocked up on scotch and stayed at home. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Much better. [smiley=2vrolijk_21.gif]

All jokes aside I feel sorry for you. It's situations like this that tax out emergency services. When we've had severe weather situations and have had to stay multiple days on end it wears you out. Not to think about what it does to your family because you're not there to provide for them. Lucky for us our Chief has realized that we need to make sure our own families are taken care of also and puts procedures into place so if we can't get home somebody checks on our families for us. Hang in there Bro, all this snow will melt sooner or later, and it will provide the cool, clean, clear water that the Coors Brewery will need to make some brew.

Colorado Springs blew the entire yearly plowing/sanding budget on the first blizzard; we suspect that the Gov'ner declared the emergency so we could pay the drivers for this one...

d00d
you are absolutley correct.... I have 150 guardsmen moving around the state and helping local agencies....I am in my EOC til probably Sunday night...luckily I have good neighbors....
gdk..  as to the declaration....  its normal and a requirement to do things like activate the national guard. the state has resources that are available only upon the declaration of an emergency... same thing at the local level.

Well, not today anyway.  Low 60s this afternoon.  I rode to dinner.
