2015 CVO Limited VS 2013 CVO Ultra Anniv
« on: October 12, 2014, 11:24:03 AM »

Kicking around moving from my 2013 CVO Ultra Anniv to a 2015 CVO Limited.  Not unhappy with the 2013, she only has a little under 17K on her, NO issues to date other than stitching in seat around 11K (Harley replaced the seat just took some time and all was cool with that).  Reason for switching are mostly due to a few changed on the newer units: seat, forks, linked brakes and of course the water cooling.      Like to get the wife a bit more space back there as most of this bikes mileage has been two up.   So my question is:  HAS YOUR PASSENGER noticed any improvement in the seating on a 2014 or 2015 vs older models.  Other thoughts are:   Suspect the front forks going larger add a bit of an improvement; maybe not.  The motor should run cooler although the 2013 does not seem to be all that bad compared to a 2010 103 unit we had before.   And haven ridden BMW's prior to going HD I like all the help possible when a deer jumps out to say hello so the Links brakes seem like a good idea; already got that T-Shirt do not need another.     I can get a fairly decent trade in on my bike (have to expect take a slight hit on a trade in for this new a bike).   Just wondering if making the switch will give the wife a bump in comfort; we getting close to 60 not as flexible are we once were not to mention we enjoy a good meal.  She been back there for over 38 years and to be honest the switch is her idea since she saw a silver and red 2015 at a dealer a few weeks back.  Thanks for any helpful insights.   Ride Safe...

Unless your and/or your wife is in love with the '15 paint, a leftover '14 CVO Limited will get you exactly the same bike for likely less money... if you can find one that a dealer is actually willing to deal on!

All of the Rushmore changes were made in '14. To my knowledge there are no significant new technology features in the '15s that aren't also on the '14s - but perhaps there is something I've overlooked.

Anyway, just something to think about...

If you decide to buy a leftover make sure it is cheap, remember once it leaves the shop it is a year old, if you total it or it is stolen it has a book value, regardless of how long you've had it.  Car/Truck/Bike, leftovers have to be at or near NADA value to be a good deal, and most are not.

Had a 2012 CVO ultra and my wife complained of backseat.  Bought 2015 CVO LIMITED just to get seat for her.  We took a five day trip to the Finger Lakes region of New York, about 1800 miles.  She loved the seat.  The arm rest are a little longer.  With the added 2 inches between rear speakers and no lumbar support in back rest, she felt very comfortable riding all day.

We went from a 2013 CVO Ultra to a 2014 CVO Limited.  My wife is much happier with the extra room.  Recently did a 2200 mile trip and she said she felt great back there.  I personally think the bike is night and day different from my 2013

:drummer: Well the 2013 is gone and a 2015 sits in her place!  A few rides in and loving it!  Wife happy more relaxed back there.  Thanks to all for the feedback.  Started on Harley's in 2010 with the then limited, upgraded to the 2013 CVO Anniv and now the 2015 CVO.  40k on the  first two Harley's combined.  Looking forward to putting a few on the new one...   Is it spring yet?
