Gary, I had my lap top while I was in the hospital.  However, they had a secured wireless network (not sure how they did that) so I was offered to use their dial up.  Kind of slow and primative but it sure made the days go by faster.  Spent my share of time right here on this site.

Hey! Dood
Like I have said before I had a shoulder replacement a year ago Aug. I'm full of titanium also  Hey! guy take your time and DON"T RUSH IT! The best advice you can get. I've got aleast four clients now that have had it done already, one did both hips at the same time. Gary it's almost a routine surgery now. My very best wishes to you for a speedy recovery [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Today, though she still goes through extensive PT, she is walking very well.  She has lost a great deal of range of motion.  We are going back to UAB in February for another evaluation and possibly more surgery.  Through it all, she has been a real trooper.  Each time I think life is throwing me constant curve balls, I come back to my senses and want to kick my own a$$.  Despite this, and other challenges, she is the happiest young lady I've ever known.

Gary......... Renea, Stef and I wish you a speedy recovery.  We're right there with you.  You WILL do fine.  God Bless you brother!

Henry

Henry, when y'all come to UAB in February let us know.  We'll be there for you.  She'll be in the best hands at UAB.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Gary,
Your taking this OCD a bit to far.   I go and get some extra Titanium and now you are following suite.   Jeesh, I would have thought chrome was sufficient.   Next time I upgrade I ain't saying a word :)   Gary as the time nears if you need something or just want to shoot the breeze give me a call.   Our best wishes through the holiday / surgery and we will check in on ya so warn your lady!

When this thread first got started, I thought that “dOOd’s hip replacement” was code for new heated seat or other chrome amenity; turns out that this is the real deal.

I was thinking that I should cook up some smart-ass remark for you to take to the hospital; but then I thought it might be better to wait and see how things heal up first.

For what it’s worth, I did hear that some hospitals use a lower cost material called unobtainum for joint replacement. The talk on the street is that the low cost alternative makes it real difficult for people to contact you after surgery. The folks on this site will be checking your average daily posts to see whether the top-shelf material was used or not.

Good luck and a speedy recovery.

Gary...If you could share  the hospital information with us before you go in, it might be well served for us to offer our condolences to the attending nurses well in advance of your surgery.... ::)

Is it ok to bribe the nurses with beers?

Maybe the new parts will be made of something magnetic, and we could use a big magnet to reel him in at The Gatherings  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] ?

Just had another thought.  It would, of course, be chrome.  But if it was plated in something with a gold tint it would be the Golden D00dTriever  ;D !
