Poor bear...

Yeah.. I guess I didn't have to see that either. Not opposed to hunting but just something really majestic about the polar bear. I sure hope he uses up every ounce of meat, hair and bone he takes from that kill.

Damn.

The hunting photos I share are of the pepole I lived with in the N.W.T. They do not hunt for sport. It's their way of life.
I understand the reservations that is held on polar bears. These pepole don't just hunt for them selves but for the comunity the catch is shared wether it be bear, seal, fish, whale, caribou. When a whale is caught the comunity comes out and it is portioned out to all. The oil from a whale is collected and now a days is used to burn for heating and cooking on hunting trips. Sinu from land animals ( that's the liner that separates the mussel) is used for sowing skins for clothing. As for bear skin it has a number of usages one of the main usage of the fur is to be used around ones hood as bear fur will not ice up from your breath ( fur stems are hollow) The pepole up there don't have the supermarkets and butcher shops. Supplies come in once or twice a year weather permitting. A head of lattes $5 a quart of milk $10

So I hope this small explanation helps in the understanding of the need to hunt. It's a hole different would up there. I know I lived it. LOL. And thank goodness for spell check cause schooling was not a priority growing up there. ;)
