Good question for a thread. The reasoning,in my mind, ;)) for spending as much as we do on bikes is the fact that it is our main hobby together. I would hate to think that i bought a CVO Ultra and rode it a half dozen times a year. We do 250-300 miles on a day ride and most off the time we get to do two a week so that adds up. Actually we ride so much we take a hit on trades because our bakes always go over 50k.

On e more thing to say about those with low milage bikes, sorry but here it goes.  You may not be the rider you think you are. We see those that ride a few timers a year and they are not always in the best control of their bike. Miles make experience and that means something. Those guys with the dusty clubs ought to take em out and see how sharp the skills are. :D

I better stick to riding! You don't want to see my golf skills!

I, too, have golf clubs I haven't used in over 15 years. My bike, however, is getting very well used. Just rolled over 24K today. Not bad for living in Iowa.  :nixweiss:

how is it that so many people care how many miles someone else puts on their bike?

i usually average 1k a month on my bike.  my wife, not so much.  her 2012 is almost due for it's 10k service.  does that mean that i'm somehow better than her?  or that she doesn't get as much enjoyment out of riding that i do?  not necessarily, she loves to ride.  she just doesn't get as much time to do it as i do.

just be glad that there are people out there who only manage 1 or 2k per year.  that leaves a good selection of used bikes to choose from.

I don't know why it's such a measuring stick, it shouldn't be IMO

Ever notice the longer a thread lasts the further it gets from the original post and intent?  lol

I don't think anyone really CARES how much anyone else rides.
It just amazes me that there are bikes out there that someone hasn't ridden!

Me for one cannot resist............  :2vrolijk_21:

I too am amazed with the number of low mileage bikes there are, regardless of the reason.

I think that since my wife loves to ride as much as I do and has her own bike that it makes it easier. She loves to ride and just traded in her 05 lowrider with 101,000 miles. She now knows what it is like to ride a Roadking         Billy
