They are mounted where you can't see them easily with the rocker box and cover installed, and they are electrically operated by the ECM.  The kind you had on the custom were the manual style and were out where you could see and operate them.

The plug in connections for the ACR's (Automatic Compression Release's) are near the top of your throttle body, underneath the gas tank...   :2vrolijk_21:

By any chance did this bike have a previous tuner before the PCV you put in?

If the bike ran when it went into the shop there is no reason it should not run with the change of the camshafts! Someone is just isn't doing what they need to be doing in the testing department. No PC-V and everything how it was with new cams and a couple simple tests is going to show the problem pretty quickly.

If the previous owner had a tuner, then a new tuner will not work unless you put in a new ecm. Or if you have the old tuner (which it appears you do not) then you can erase the previous tune and put the bike back to stock. Without a new ecm the bike will not start

From what has been said already, why install these cams with acr's.  I am wondering if they got the cam timing off a tooth or two off bleeding off most all compression.  I second the suggestion for a compression test.

Maybe that's why they want to go back into the cam chest.  Maybe?

RUT ROH! You would think they would have known that. Have they never worked on a 110 before? That's not a good sign.

Hope you get this sorted out soon...

So assuming the problem of your bike not starting is quite likely a lack of sufficient compression, your choice is to disable the ACR's (unplug them) or change cams, eliminating the Easy Start feature of the S&S cams that were installed by replacing them with alternate cams.

Btw, it's not just CVO's that come from the factory with ACR's these days.  Perhaps the folks selling and installing mods should try to keep up with what's going on in the industry; it's not the 1980's anymore and even H-D has finally made some changes.
