PUMPED
« on: October 28, 2014, 01:39:26 PM »

Hey everyone. I just got a sweet deal on a new 2014 CVO Road King three days ago and I joined this forum. The bike is kickass. Tons of power right off idle, and nice suspension (some people think the premium shocks are too firm, but I like them, they work really well, like a quality sport bike suspension).  All the little stuff is already upgraded (grips, pedals, shift linkage, etc.). The only little thing that I might do is install the mirrors with the running lights/blinkers built in and remove the bullets. The only big thing that I might address after the winter is the exhaust. It doesn't have to be really loud, but definitely louder than stock. The most important thing by far is to keep or increase all that torque. I had Long Shots on my Heritage and I think I lost torque in that swap. I also don't need to be that loud. I want some bass in the sound. I'll do some research here and elsewhere, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome from a fellow 14 CVO RK owner from Warwickshire in the UK. I have fitted V&H dresser duals and twin slash ovals on mine. What colour did you go for?

Hello and welcome to the site from Maine! Congrats on the new acquisition...

You'll find a lot of information on exhaust upgrades reading through the archives here. I run Fullsac headers and V&H Monster Ovals on my Ultra Classic and like the set up.

Gray (titanium) and black. Subtle for a CVO, but pops in the sun.

Welcome to the site from The Lowcountry of South Carolina!
Congratulations on your new ride.
I hope this may be of interest to you.
Attending a GTG is the best way to get to know the members and put a face to those screen names. Many a lasting friendship have come out of these GTG's,
So. if you want to meet people, ride some awesome roads, kick back and have fun, come to one or all of the GTG's. ( For the newbies out there, GTG = Get Together )
Make your plans now and avoid the rush. In other words, stop pondering and get a hankering and make reservations and attend.
See ya'll there.
The GTG's are in the event section of the board.

Again Welcome
Mike

Welcome from NJ. I was considering the illuminated mirrors as well but decided to go with the Kuryakyn 5005 passing lights and turn signal combination. I read too many reports about the LED's failing, one by one, in the mirrors. Plus, now my CVO Road King looks the way it should. It's a Road King after all and should have passing lights (JMHO.)

Regarding the exhaust, like many on this site, I run with the Fullsac X Pipe headers and CVO exhaust baffles, tuned by a TTS Mastertune. The results are fantastic. The do-it-yourself parts are not quite as easy to install as many people describe, but easy enough. It didn't help that my garage was over 100 degrees when I decided to do it.

Good luck with the new scoot!

I see you have the Dragula. I'm leaning that way. Glad to see they have a ghost pipe. I think that's a must if you have the extended bags. Anything you can say about the system and company would be appreciated.

Who did your tuning and where in NJ are they? I'll probably be looking for a good tuner.

It's a great sounding pipe that looks good and produces.
