jackpot header problem
« on: November 02, 2014, 08:17:13 AM »

Had a problem with the header from jackpot.
O2 senor  hole to small. A real pain to hook up with head.
Calling fuelmotousa Monday. Has anyone had this problem before?
Lost a great weekend ride.  #/=_\#%&\/.
Now I feel better.

I had no problems with mine. Are you using stock of sensors? The wide band sensors are larger than the OEM ones.

:confused5:   I was under the impression that the Jackpot pipes came with both 12mm and 18mm bungs so you can use the pipes on bikes with either size sensors?

Yep, your right Jerry, but the 18mm bungs are located much higher on the pipe, very close to the exhaust port. I believe they were intended to be used with 2009 & earlier bikes. I imagine the 18mm bungs could be used for later model bikes on the Jackpot 2/1/2 head pipe & wide band sensors. I am not sure if the wiring would be long enough on the sensors.
Have a great day!

Sorry I need to more clear.  Using the 12 mm hole. The senors are stock and even the plugs they sent with the header will not go in to the hole. Just a bad build.

What year bike is this going on? FWIW, I have the two different styles of header pipes from FM,the std on the '10 and the XXX on a '09 and never had fitment issues. Check out their site and youtube for install issues.

Whatever the problem, Jaime and the crew at FM will resolve the problem...

If your bike is a 10-up Bagger it uses the 12mm sensors down by the collector. These are heated sensors so they don't need to be close to the exhaust port to keep them hot enough to work properly.
If your bike is a 07-09 Bagger it uses 18mm sensors and must be installed close to the exhaust port to keep them lit.
If the sensor does not fit in one of the bung sizes there must be something wrong with either the sensor threads or the bung threads.
I know of no one who has had the issue you are referring to.

Sounds like you just need to run a tap in them. ID probably just closed up a bit when they welded the bungs in.

Hello, I just put a set of stainles ceramic coated headers on my 15 limited, I had to tap the 12 mm bung holes as they were too small. Told fuelmoto they needed to QC these pipes said they would, was a pain to run around and fine tap.

Replacement header here.  O2 sensor went right in.  Looks like I am back in business. Will install in a few days but I think I am good.
