Today we are going out for the weekend on the bike as this will be our last getaway until I hope no later than April or May.The weather is suppose to be 75 & sunny all weekend.                                   We will be riding the Panhandle of Florida in search for the best oysters! :bananarock:

Walking sucks but I have no problem riding!

New knees in January! :apple:

Good luck Bill on the 2nd knee! :2vrolijk_21:

Don't try and be a hero and take the pain meds. I stooped after tree weeks for a few days any was in pain. I now take three pills a day and it takes the edge off so I can get through the day. Every day I'm a bit better. New Knee bends better then the old one ever did. I would say in about 10 weeks from surgery you should be able to function pretty dam good.

Second knee done December 17th. Not as bad as the first. Hope to be on the bike March 1st....

You'll do well now that both are done. I did one on 3/25 and one on 4/15. Then I was able to do therapy on both at the same time cutting down on the time spent.

6 weeks after the last one I was driving again and things got progressively better from there.

I can walk 2 miles down the beach with no pain so that's quite an accomplishment.

Looking back I shouldn't have waited so long.

Heal fast.

muddypaws, I hope you meet your expectations to be on the bike as of March 1. My surgery got cancelled & rescheduled to February 3rd. Florida weather is great for riding so I guess I'll get some more miles in before my downtime.  I guess I'll hope to be riding by May 1st, I hope!

From surgery to riding will be four months.  Three if you stay out of traffic.  I kept the Santa hat on during surgery.

It''s been 2 1/2 months and I can walk better then I have in the past 20 years. March 1 will be a bike ride if not before. Anyone that has a hard time walking should consider getting new knees. The major pain is worth it.

It's great to hear your doing great! February 3rd is my date for my right knee & the 10th for the left.

I know "No pain, no gain"!

I hope mine goes as well as yours!

Danner 55 if both of your knees after surgery hurt like my right one you are in for a hell of two weeks of intense pain. For some reason my left one was no big deal and the drugs took care of it. Best of luck and keep me informed.

muddypaws, Pre Op tomorrow! I have only 8 working days left. Worked last night & the walk out was a bitch. I will take your advise on the drugs. I hope it isn't that bad! I know it will be miserable.I'm not backing out.

I'll keep you updated. Maybe after this is all over, a road trip up your way sounds good! May be we can get together & do ride.
