Update on my knee replacement recovery. 12 days after the 1st February 3rd & 5 after the 2nd February 10th I did the walk about on the driveway. I did about 5 laps with the walker & I felt great! So I figured no pain no gain! I walked 20 steps without using the walker.Pretty good after just 12 days. I'm not going to get stupid but I feel great about the way my recovery is going!. Taking my meds as required & icing the knees down to get the swelling down.

Every day will be better than the day before!

You need to speed the recovery up so you can hit Bike Week.

muddypaws, The knees are doing great! Not using the walker much in the house. The PT sure works on the body but everyday I feel better. It's only been 16 days on 1 & 9 on the other. I still have some swelling on the newest leg. I'm have more stiffness in the knees versus pain. I take my meds as directed but some day I'll have to get off them! I think I'll pass on Bike Week this year as I only live 90 miles from there & can go there whenever I want.

For all those coming down to Daytona be careful & enjoy our Florida weather!

I made it to Daytona!

1st time in 22 years I rode to Daytona in a cage! It's only been 31 days since I had both knees replaced. Walked around Rossmeyers & to Boss Bags for a solo fender cover for the Springer &  then to International Speedway. I got my Hog Pin & believe me I worked for that Hog Pin. Saw Tig from SOA getting his pics taken :nixweiss: & meet up with some old friends. They can't believe my legs are straight.

It felt great to get out of the house & be among the living!
After a day of walking it was time to go back to Jax & Rehab.

Ya'll enjoy Daytona & the Florida weather!

Ride Safe!

muddypaws,

How's it going with the knees? I hope you are happy with the decision to have them replaced! Are you riding yet?

I'm doing fantastic! PT is challenging but everyday it gets better. Yesterday was 7 weeks on the right & 6 on the left. I'm right @ 120 degrees! Yesterday I  was able to get down on the knees & put weight on them. Better than I thought it would be. I need to be able to do this before going back to work.

So I did it! I was able to through a leg over the bike! I had no problem getting on the Ultra. Now I know I will be able to ride but I'm not ready to ride. I need to build my strength back up as I have some weakness from laying around for 6 weeks.

Both knees are going great. left one still not bending past 110 but doc said it will. Was in Texas and walking 4 miles a day. No problem riding the bike. Glad to hear you are doing OK. Best decision I ever made. The first two wife's was not a good decision....

muddypaws,

Saw the doc today! 123 & 120 degrees. I'm taking 5 more weeks off work.

Happy to hear you are doing great!

I've only had 1 bad decision on the subject of wives!

New knees and a rebuilt motor. I feel like a kid again. No more of that vibrating pain in my knees.
