S&S Lifters and Pushrods - 110 Motor SERK
« on: November 04, 2014, 08:59:52 AM »

Ok so I searched the site and found hundreds of posts about lifters but I cannot find the corresponding  part numbers.  I have a 2007 FLHRSE3 - SERK.  110 Motor with about 8100 miles, and I have developed a noticeable tick at idle and valve chatter at about 2000rpm.  I am guessing it might be a good idea to change the lifters and pushrods over the winter.  S&S's website isnt very useful. I do not know what set of lifters and adjustable pushrods to get.  Any ideas?
Thanks ahead of time..

Are the engines the same from 2007-2012 in regards to lifters and pushrods?
Thanks

Last summer I installed new S&S premium lifters part 330-0175. I also removed S&S adjustable pushrods, part no. 93-5095 that were sold to me by a vender on this site. As it turned out, these pushrods are not meant to be removed without taking rocker covers off (I think I was able to barely get 3 of them off without taking the rocker covers off and had to get the bolt cutters out on one of the rear ones). I did my own research, called S&S and bought S&S quickie adjustable pushrods part 93-5122 from Amazon.

S&S actually FINALLY replied to my email and quoted the same part numbers that were posted in this thread, so HOPEFULLY we are good.  I plan on cutting the stock pushrods as well.
Thanks

We use S&S pushrods/rocker arms/lifters in the engines we build here, w/o ANY issues whatsoever..............but then again, we do this everyday. :)

ide do the S&S std. lifters, quickie p/rods & a set of AV&V beehive springs (the stock 110 springs have WAY too much seat pressure)

and don't forget to do cam bearing if you're still runing the stock cam.  S&S sells a cam install kit with new bearing

Sorry the clouds have gathered. Its time for some rain showers.
The 2007 110s had so many blown head gaskets due to the liners in the barrels slipping that there was a class action lawsuit against Harley organized by the owners of these Jewels. A personal friend of mine had his 07 CVO 110 in the shop so many times in 2007 that he was finally written a check for the full purchase price.
I wouldn't stress about a little tickity tick. You need to watch for oil running down your barrels.

Wasnt there a recall for that anyway?  I checked and the gasket recall was performed on mine so thats a good thing, but you guys are telling me.. Lifters, pushrods, compensator, cam tensioner, Valve springs and now cam bearings too.. !!?  Sounds like the WHOLE 110 motor needs recalled!  LOL  I knew I should have gotten a 103SG...sigh...this is worse than a boat!

Nope, the only place I have ever been that made a Harley service department look good was a boat service department! Mercruiser will sell you their 1050 Hp motor for $60k and then tell you it needs rebuilt every 100 hours!
