I like it! One of my favorite restaurants, an authentic Mexican cantina in west Atlanta, has a sign that warns patrons not to use their cell phones. They will promptly ask you to leave if you ignore the warning.

One of the best approaches is everyone puts their phone face down in the middle of the table and the first one that picks theirs up also picks up the tab. Just how bad do you want to read that text?
