Bag zeus cover - Hole - 2014 CVO RK
« on: November 17, 2014, 08:51:32 AM »

Ok, so if this is a stupid question, sorry.

On the left front zeus cover, where the bag attaches to (it is the cover that is bolted to the bike and stops someone releasing the bags), there is a hole drilled in it, near the front. None of the other 3 have holes, so I can't think what the purpose of the hole is. It looks like it should be there, as its all painted etc.

The right bag front cover doesn't have a hole in it.

I believe you are talking about these...

If so the hole is for the metal piece shown that comes on the US models... from what was posted in this thread - Dzus fasteners for panniers they don't come on the International models. Probably what happened was the US one got mixed w/the International one and someone either removed the wire piece or it got put in the wrong bin w/o getting the pin put on. :nixweiss:

Nope, the International bikes do come with Zeus fasteners, the only difference is, mine don't have the wire rings, just the heads. So what I'm talking about is, the cover on the bike that covers these zeus fitments, so looking from the top down, you can't see these fasteners when the bags are on. My left hand front cover has a hole drilled in it, so you can look in the hole and spot the zeus fastener. Best I take a pic.

So here is a pic of the front left hand cover. The other covers are all solid. Is this cover different, so the bag is slightly further out, to miss the shock adjuster - one thought! Top of pic is the bag, bottom the bike. The piece with the hole is where the zeus bolt goes through, so if you look down through the hole, you can see the zeus bolt which is holding the left bag on. All the others have longer solid covers

Ok thanks, so we are not talking about D rings or zeus fasteners. But the cover that hides them from above. Do all 14 CVO RK have a different cover on the left front bag fittment?

I think that hole may be used to attached the shock air line fitting on models that have air shocks.
