cuse6 value
« on: November 28, 2014, 09:30:07 PM »

anyone care to comment on what I might expect trade-in value to be on a hard candy mercury cvo street glide. trade-in is 2011 cuse6 with 25000 mi. looks new and serviced on time. tires 65% 100% stock. candy colbalt/twilight sapphire color.

Don't know what book says, but...4 yo bike, reasonable mileage, looks good, trading for a bike in very high demand...if we agree to price the SG at MSRP... not saying it's fair, but I think the dealer offers $24K to 26K.   :(

A lot depends on local demand, my local dealer offered me 22K on my CUSE5 with 30k miles & 15k in mods. Good luck.

In my area I doubt a dealer would offer that much on a CUSE6. Recently I visited two dealerships with CVO's (Limited and RGU) and talked about trading my pristine CUSE8 with low mileage. One dealer I've purchased three new bikes from and they do my service work. I wasn't really serious about making the change and even less so once they came back with ballpark offers. My scoot is modded with AK-20 front suspension and Bitubo shocks on the rear, Fullsac DX headers/V&H Monster Ovals and a bunch of other stuff - nearly $9k in upgrades, which we all know amounts to little talking trade. Anyway, my local dealer said 'around $25/26k' and by the way, 'nobody wants pre-Rushmore bikes' and they'd have a real issue selling it; the second said $28/29k and they could sell Ultra Classics all day long...

In my area

Exactly right.  And what we haven't discussed is the dealer's other $$-makers, like F&I, PDI, Pit Pass, and ESP.  If they can push in $1000 PDI, plus a cut of the others on the new bike, they can afford to seem generous on the trade-in, which makes us feel good that they recognize what a great bike we have.  That disarms a lot of people into thinking they're getting treated fairly...when the $tealer is sticking it to them on the other end of the deal.

If NADA and others are to be trusted the average RETAIL is between 26k on the lower end (KBB) and 30k on the high end (NADA). KBB lists trade as $21,700    :'(   with average mileage - they condsider @17k average...

I don't know about you, but I'm keeping mine....

if, I could trade for 12k including freight tags and taxes,i think I might consider a hard candy sgse. going from an ultra to street glide might not be a smart thing to do :o

You got that right phato - trading my CUSE8 would represent a financial bloodbath. It would be different if I didn't like the bike... Think I'm done supporting my local dealership with trade-ins.

I guess all you can do is ask, the worst they can say is no and then you get to keep the 11.5. I think you might be hard pressed to get what amounts to almost 26k for yours on trade if the CVO Street Glide is priced at MSRP - especially towards the Street Glide which are not hanging around on the showroom floor, at least not around here.

Only you can decide if going from the Ultra to the Street Glide is right for you. I do know I need the Tourpac...especially when the wife and I travel, not to mention she just plain likes the support and comfort it offers her while we're just out for a ride.

I do have a cuse3 so I will still have an ultra. my lady is like yours she prefers the ultra classic cuse6. the rear seat has lumbar which the se3 does not. I love the blue se6!! maybe, just purchase a hard candy and keep big blue. :2vrolijk_21: :pepper: :pineapple: :orange: :mango: :bananarock: :apple: :jalapeno: :cucumber:
