Ventilator filter
« on: November 29, 2014, 10:09:18 AM »

After searching the forum and seeing it anywhere, has anyone bought on of these?

Has any of our forum tuners seen it around?

Might wait for some of the Dyno tuners to chime in before purchasing. You probably get enough air with what you have!

Probably.  I'm just shopping around (bored).  Next week I start assembling the 113 from Steve.  Two things that are very expensive: this forum and boredom. Lol

Oh, I sent them a message asking about it.  $260 plus a 2-3 week wait.

I'd be a little leery of that ten horsepower claim, since I've seen comparisons a few years back that showed very little difference between the Ventilator and running without the filter, much less than 10 hp.  That statement may be true with a seriously modified bike, but I rather doubt it with a Stage I or II.  But as noted by Michael, you might want to see if any of the pro's around here have actual results they'd care to share.

Another point to ponder would be clearance to your leg.  One of the nice things about the Ventilator compared to the earlier Harley air cleaners is the extra clearance for your leg.  It looks like this filter would eat up as much as two inches of that clearance. :nixweiss:

10 hp I would be Leary of? I run the kuryakyn and absolutely love it. cold and pressurized air. Not hot air off the heads.

I guess it comes down to what you want to look at every day and how much $$ you want to part with. Mine is stock with a pipe and tuner only and I'm happy. The stock housing on the '14s has the front-facing inlet like Kuryakyn Hypercharger, just not as hot-rod looking with the butterflies. It may breathe a tad more at WOT with an open element, but no need for it here cause I rarely do that. I also like the looks of the stocker and the fact that it's front-facing instead of it sucking hot engine air.

I bought that filter for mine. It looks bad*$$! I am just putting mine back together so not sure if there was any performance bump or not. We used it with the s&s 58 mm throttle hog.
