Red Seals on factory Air suspension
« on: December 06, 2014, 05:35:17 PM »

Does anyone know if the Red Seals on the rear shocks and the the Tee's that the black air suspension tubing pushes in to are available through Harley or the after market? I cut the Black tubing back and re-inserted the sealed for a short while, and now air leaking again.
If anyone has a part number or a place where I get them, it would be greatly appreciated, also what these are are called. :orange:

From the parts catalog "p/n 54320-97 fitting, 5/32 push in"  Picture shows it is the screw in fitting with the integral red push down release you are referencing

Parts manual is often the most useful tool anyone can have.  Barring that there are now dealer sites with the manual online.  Often a parts manual will do better than a service manual for the unitiated just for the breakdowns.

Thanks for looking in your parts Manual, I couldn't agree more that the
Arts book can be more informative than the repair manual. The part you referenced I believe is the brass fittings that go into the top of the shocks and the have the Red Pushin rubber seals. I am wanting to put seals in all the fittings, without having to buy all the fittings.

Ronnie's HD is one of several that has the parts break downs online.  Nearly all the manuals here to see what is and isn't available:

Thanks, I will give Ronnies a try, I bought a '91 FLLHS from them in '91... Great shop. I went to my local dealer here in fort myers today, they had 3 mid twenties girls and one mid twenties guy working the the parts counter, they looked at me like I had three heads when I asked them to look up the parts I wanted...

5/32" plastic tubing is used on semi truck transmission air lines.   Semi truck dealers, TruckPro, and Napa should be able to get these fittings.  Weatherhead makes them.

They are called quick disconnect fittings.  1/8" pipe to 5/32" plastic in straight, 90 degrees, or 45 degrees.  You can also buy unions to splice the plastic line together.  You can get them in brass or all plastic.

Of course, it may be easier to just go to Harley but there are other options.  The aftermarket fittings will not have the red ring though but will work just the same.
