Will the Vance and Hines Oversized 450s fit?
« on: December 09, 2014, 08:51:29 AM »

I'm just wondering if the Vance and Hines oversized 450 slip ons would fit with the extended bags or not?

yes, they will fit.  I would of course double check that by calling VH.  I did speak to them when I purchased my 15 SG CVO and thats what they told me.  I decided to go with the HO with Carbon tips.  I really dig them, both sound and looks.  Good luck

I'm just wondering if the Vance and Hines oversized 450 slip ons would fit with the extended bags or not?

The stock mufflers are 4.0" diameter, and the V&H 450's are of course 4.5" diameter.  If you currently have more than .25" clearance with the stock mufflers to the bags, then the 4.5" mufflers will obviously fit physically.  The next question would be how much clearance is actually needed to keep the hot muffler from damaging the bag?  I can't answer that for you, but V&H claims in their product advertising that the 450's will indeed fit those bikes with extended bags.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bigger is better. The Vance & Hines OverSized 450 slip-on line for Touring models takes it to a new level with massive 4.5-inch diameter mufflers. Finished with equally large CNC machined billet end caps styled with a slight taper and race-inspired flutes, the OverSize 450 fits and looks the part on baggers with extended skirts.

The OverSized 450 slip-on line also puts out a big deep-toned rumble thanks to its large fiberglass wrapped 2.5-inch perforated core baffles, which can also be tempered down with optional quiet baffles. Available in all chrome, all black or chrome with black end caps.

- 4.5-inch Round with Billet end treatment
 - Available in Chrome Finish

 - Fits Saddlebags with Extended skirts
 - Optional Quiet Baffle Available

I was hoping to get some info on them as well.  Mainly on performance, since the website says they'll fit

I will be getting 450's soon for my road glide CVO along with powerduals. I think there will be some drop in the performance due to the size of 450's compared to the stock SE slipons. but I don't care about minor performance drop as I am hoping it would sound awesome.
Anyhow I will be recieving them next week. So i will post a video once I recieve and install them through my local dealer.

The size of the muffler body isn't going to affect performance. It's the size and length of the core that will make the muffler perform better or worse.
