You can tell that it's cold outside, all of us Iowans are now inside and checking out the forums!   

I am new to this forum and to the CVO community.  I received my 2015 Street Glide CVO 4 days ago.  Still hopeful to get some break-in miles before it goes back to the shop for pipes, breather, tuner, dyno, etc.

My previous bikes included 2013 Street Glide (Midnight Pearl) and several non-Harley rides prior to having kids.

I am excited that this forum exists and to take advantage of the wisdom of so many riders!  Thanks, in advance, for sharing and I hope to be able to add to exchange.

Welcome to the site and congratulations on the new bike!  Where are you in Iowa?  I'm in Pella.  Curious as to what other dealers in Iowa sold the HC Mercury and how many are floating around in Iowa.  I picked mine up at McGrath Hawkeye in Coralville 3 weeks ago.

I am in Johnston (Des Moines suburb - central Iowa).  I had deposits with two dealers (Big Barn - Des Moines) and Zylstra (Ames) since August waiting for the specific Hard Candy Mercury/Smoky Quartz Flames color scheme.  I was number 4 on the list with the Big Barn and number 1 with Zylstra.  Zylstra expected to receive this bike back in October but it wasn't delivered until last week.

My impression is that there are NOT very many, if any, SG CVOs floating around Iowa.  However, there could be with another paint scheme...I was looking for this one specifically.

I hope there are not too many of us floating around!  ;-)

When I went to put my deposit down on the HC in Coralville at the middle of September, they had a blue/orange one that was not sold and when I was waiting on mine a yellow one came through that I could have bought as well.  Surprising how many are sitting around yet hard to find in other places.

I hope this may be of interest to you.
Attending a GTG is the best way to get to know the members and put a face to those screen names. Many a lasting friendship have come out of these GTG's,
So. if you want to meet people, ride some awesome roads, kick back and have fun, come to one or all of the GTG's. ( For the newbies out there, GTG = Get Together )
Make your plans now and avoid the rush. In other words, stop pondering and get a hankering and make reservations and attend.
