Bike seems to be sagging more
« on: December 10, 2014, 07:05:25 PM »

My 03 has been on the rear shocks 11 years now and as I look it seems to have too much sag.  What have you folks done if you've had that problem?
Thanks
Bud

I don't think I've ever left stock shocks on a bike of mine for 11 days, much less 11 years.  I've used Bitubo shocks, Progressive shocks, Legend Air shocks and a few others - all with great success.  If you've got 11 years out of your stock Harley shocks, I think you've done well...  I'd suggest you consider one of the many fine aftermarket replacement shocks...   :2vrolijk_21:

Happens to mine every year. Starts about Thanksgiving and runs through the end of January until I can get back on a diet. ::)

Like sadunbar said, lot of great options out there. If you like the ride of the stock shocks, I'm sure you can find take offs at a reasonable price.

The air shocks that came on my 11.5 are hanging up in the garage... as I sure many other pairs are...
If you do purchase the HD air shocks used try and get some that were stored vertically because when the are left horizontal the oil in them leaks out and from what I've been told they are a quite difficult or almost impossible to refill.

That is easy to remember - the opposite of storing Red Wine - ha ha ...

Frankly, in my first and only month of owning/riding the 2015' the shocks caught my attention and not in a good way. I will know more in the Spring...

RIDE ON....

Same with me, in the first week.  At 2K miles I replaced the POS factory air shocks with some nice Ohlins.  Bike handles in the corners so much better, it no longer wallows and feels loose.  Now its nice firm, controlled and well planted in the curves.
