I am thinking of putting a 2 into 1 on a 15 SERGU with no mods as yet. Figure to do the research while running her in.

Would like to leave the motor be. I would just like to have it running nicely all the way through the throttle and give me enough power to get around 'stuff' when I need/want to.

Have no real preference for an ECM and am wondering about warranty issues as it seems you can't use or not use the MoCo tuners depending who you are talking to.

Changed from an 11 SERGU which ran pretty hot with V&H true duals and SEST (managed to burn through the inside right leg of 3 pairs of riding jeans last summer). I am hoping the 'twin cool' deal will help there although in the long term I am sure it won't be cheaper than buying a new pair of jeans every second ride. Happy to go with ceramic coated for function but not sure on matching colours, durability or if its a true value add and figure chrome is easy

I do mostly 2 up touring and like my music so the aim is power not noise. My wife is petite but I am a fat bastard and we carry a bit of gear with us as we normally shoot off for a couple weeks on the bike. Therefore I am thinking I would like something that provides torque, won't get me arrested but sounds like a motorcycle not a sewing machine.

Have dug a little on the systems listed below. Problem is all of the videos/reviews/pictures etc were of different quality, approach and level of detail ie 30 second idle versus idle and ride by versus dyno. Very hard to compare sound in an enclosed space at high revs with something outside at the same revs let alone more or less Revs. One thing they had in common was they were pretty much pre-rushmore making it hard to judge current versions. It seemed to be comparing apples with oranges with warm beer.

- RB LSR black hole - A couple bikes back I had an lsr 2:1 on a 95CI roadking and liked it a lot but it was loud, hence possibility of black hole version but the video seemed very loud and they had mixed reviews to put it mildly
- Supertrapp supermeg - not sure if they have anything current but I think they maybe MoCo approved/endorsed/acceptable?
- the MoCo website talks about factory 2:1 sytems and nightstick slip on for it but I could not find it
- Dragos Dragular 2 - couldn't find anything recent with sound
- Fuelmoto Jackpot - sounded good on the clip but wonder bout the finish
- Looked at Fullsac but they don't seem to have a 2:1 option

There was a pretty informative dyno doco-type deal on another forum which covered a whole bunch of different slip ons with db readings and dyno printouts etc to compare and they threatened to do the same for 2:1s but don't seem to have followed through.

Happy to look at any suggestions and would very much appreciate any guidance/opinions/experiences ya'll would care to share

Cheers Tom

potential troubles with warranty on anything not street legal.

real troubles with esp on any changes of any kind.

the troubles that you might or might not have are worse traveling than local. and depend entirely on the techs or managers fibbing to hd to get coverage - if they are straight with hd that its modified hd won't pay.

there ARE some exhaust options that are legal - but not many.   the stock pipes are pretty good compared to in the past - especially on a stock engine.

its your bike do what you want - just don't expect mother harley to pay for any repairs and you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the heads up Timo. I'll keep my powder dry for the time being and start looking at what options there are that are 'less' likely to be a problem. There are that many options out there that the warranty may well run out before I make my mind up.  ;D

I just got the Dragula 2 from Dragos Bike Works. Really nice. The old Dragula is also available, for now. Like you, my plan is to just do the exhaust. I have a CVORK so the Heavy Breather air intake is already in place. If you have the extended bags you should get a ghost pipe for the left side (not an option with V&H). Without the extended bags you can still use one and it looks good, but you can also get away with not using it. Then you could dress up the left side with chrome belt guard, and nicer pulley. Whatever pipe you get, get a good tune and your bike will run sweet with the 2 into 1. TTS, Screamin Eagle Pro Super Tuner, PCV. All good.

Bigger fights happen with the extended warranties than the manufacturer's two year.

If warranty is a really big deal to you, then you most definitely do not want to use the Harley SEPST (SE Pro Super Tuner) since it leaves a trail in the ECM that lets H-D know you used it.  The other Harley device, the SESPT (Street Tuner) is basically worthless, as it only allows you to install street legal calibrations.  The TTS MasterTune is probably the most capable of the systems, and that one allows you to save the stock calibration file and reinstall it without leaving a trace.  Before you take your bike in for warranty work, just put the stock calibration back in the ECM and play dumb.

 Bassani!

I can't say enough good things about their 2-1 pipes.  Got two buddies who run then.
Neither are the new shower heads though.
