Had the HD unit that when you flashed the hi-beams the garage door would open, on my 2004 RG. When I sold the bike I forgot the sending unit was behind the fairing. Can I buy a sending unit for my 2015, or do I need a another "kit"? If I need a kit I'll track down the owner of my old bike and give him the rest of the parts.

You can buy just the sending unit.

Harley sells the transmitter and receiver units separately, or as a kit.

Installation Instructions attached.  I've yellow highlighted the instructions for the 2014 and later Touring models.  BTW, what model are you planning to install this in?

If my memory hasn't totally abandoned me (probably real close), I think I remember you riding a Road King but then going with a Road Glide.  If you're looking for instructions for a 2015 Road Glide model, those instructions I marked up won't apply, they only cover the other Touring models.  Perhaps Harley has a more recent update for the 2015's somewhere.

Jerry thanks to you for the links. I  have a RK and a RG. Both are late models (RK CVO 2014), will install on the 2015 RG, but believe now, thanks to you all I can get another transmitter and make the rest work, with a late model electrical connection kit. Plan on installing on the RG when I have the fairing off. Speakers on the RG don't seem much better than my '04 RG, so may change them out at the same time. Easier to hide the transmitter on the RG than the RK I think.
BTW: This is a great place for info, thanks all.

You can also program up to four transmitters to work one receiver.

Love haveing them on my two main riders and my wifes two bikes.  Makes it so easy.  With the new flash to pass you do not have to go low-high-low, you can press flash to pass once, makes it even easier.

If your 15RG is a CVO it will come with the entire unit. Just hooked mine up and it works great off the flash to pass unit. Thanks for the tip flstfi Dave the instructions and manual did not mention that little bonus.

Yea, I love that it works like that and the instructions do not mention it.  Found out it worked like that by accident.  Told my wife about it so she could try, and flash to pass works on her RGS, which told me it would work that way on all bikes with flash to pass.
