Cubic inches and exhaust back pressure
« on: December 17, 2014, 11:20:04 PM »

I know that larger motors have larger volumes of exhaust gases.
Pipe manufacturers have pipes with certain amount of restriction per amount of exhaust gases. When you buy a pope there are no real way of knowing how that pipe will work with your displacement, cam and head work. Too little restriction and Torque dips at 3000 rpm, too much restriction the Bike us too quite and kills top end HP. There should be a rating of some type for the DIY guys that don't have the funds to Dyno test everytime something is changed. Where I live you sign a paper that they are not responsible if they blow your motor on the Dyno. Guess the Seat of the Pants Dyno is gone forever!

There are dyno tuners out there that post sheets with different combo's.  There are pipe combo's that a tuner or builder might use over and over.  I take the hints.

That is some good advice.
