Fogging a 110 for winter storage
« on: December 27, 2014, 01:03:23 PM »

I have always put some fogging oil in the cylinders of all my summer toys before leaving them sit for 3-4 months in the winter and just wondering if there are any special precautions with this motor. My usual way is to remove the plugs and spray a few squirts of marine fogging oil into the cylinders and roll them over a few turns and re install the plugs till spring. Anything anyone can add that I should be aware of?

You can do it that way or maybe the original way it was designed to. Remove the air filter, run the engine and spray it in the throttle body flooding the engine out to a stall. Read the can and see if its safe for EFI engines with sensors before doing it that way.

Hmmmm, very envious. We have had about 30cm of snow here in Silverstar BC over the last 24 hrs with more to come. The skiing is great, but riding, just a distant longed for activity at the moment.

You got lucky, last winter you didn't get that 1 day.  ;D

Once they start throwing salt on the roads I am done. It is not worth the damage just to say I rode. Harley's chrome flakes off on it's own enough. Now going out on the 1000cc 4 wheeler doing doughnuts in the snow, hell yea!

You are correct, last year I lived in Northern MN, cold and snow - sucked!

Love no snow (so far)

Oh wow 82!  I ride all year as well but it sure isn't that warm. Heading to Daytona in March and expect to get some 80+ temps!  Enjoy the riding and get enough sun for us all!

That's what I do to the 110"  Also to my lawn tractor.  Seems to be fine.
