yes my FLHRSE3 does have an oil cooler. and i hope the acr will be a simple software update.
something has to be done to get these machines afr corrected!

quote from exclusive rinehart distribitor  Drag Specialties fatbook.

[highlight]"Features two oxygen sensor ports in the head pipes, which accept closed-loop aftermarket fuel-injection management systems for better performance and reliability"[/highlight]
so what aftermarket systems would use the stock sensors?

and while chrome won't get you home, it'll damn sure get you laid.
so while my 96 FLHR with rineharts is road worthy the FLHRSE3 has its advantages...

i still have my fingers crossed that it'll go my way.

edit: the pics wouldn't be appropriate to this thread topic.

THAT PISSES ME OFF. They told me the pipes were designed for the stock O2 sensors only. What kind of crap is that ?? Now they better modify the bung on the front pipe to accomodate the Bosch 5 wire sensor, there should really be no excuse !!!

Hey guys, check this out.

As luck would have it, the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show is in Washington DC this weekend, and the star of the show is the world's fastest motorcycle, the 350 mph BUB streamliner.  Dennis Manning, BUB's founder, himself is working the show and traveling with the 'liner and decided to stop in for a visit at Zipper's on his way to DC.

I know what you're thinking.

Yes, he is aware of the recent issues with the sensor fitment, as he has been in contact with Ken at BUB about it while traveling.  We have a 110 here now we are cam testing with, so we mocked the pipe up for him to see first hand.

His response:  We need to change the pipe.  As many of you have found, BUB is a company that puts customer service as a #1 priority.  He sees the problem and will address it, along with the brake pedal issue.  Now, keep in mind, many pipes have been sold, many more will be before the change makes it through production.  So this is the short term proposal he asked me to pass on to you:  Use large bolt (the thread is metric, 18 x 1.5), or an 18mm spark plug, thread it into the pipe and give it a whack (a "ding" he called it, like copout did) to shift the sensor around for clearance.  If you damage your pipe doing this, he will warranty it without question.  Period.

Dennis is one of the good guys.  He is good to his word.  If the Rineharts are what you want, get them.  He'll back you up if you have a problem.

Thanks, JK

John,
Thanks for the update, even though this doesn't effect me it is good to hear that he understands and wants to correct the problem. Even better to hear that he backs his product and will make it right whatever it takes. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

BTW - Love my Rineharts. [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

[smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Now that is kick A$$ information. I am really impressed and hope RH replaces my pipe with the revised one when they get it done. Karen did say they would do that !!! Anyway's, I am really impressed with RH and their concern for the issue. That really makes me feel all warm and fuzzy  [smiley=orange.gif]

Do you think they will also need to modify and replace the heatshield ??

That is excellent!!!  A vendor standing behing their product and listening to what's going on out in the field, making a special effort to correct the problem...makes me glad I've got their pipes on my bike!!  RH's Rule!!!

Terry

Those left coast guys have the Freedom T/D's, which is a modified R/H.
They are modified to get that low end torque back!
And they sound great!

 [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I spoke to Brad from Freedom yesterday about his pipes.

He said they have had to live with the misconception that their pipes are modified Rineharts ever since they have been selling them.

The Freedom pipes are not modified Rineharts. The Freedoms are their own design that Bub Enterprises manufactures for them. Freedom pipes are not modified Rineharts, but are similar.

This came straight from Brad at Freedom. I'm glad he straightened me out because I had been saying they were modified Rineharts too.

That is just too cool. Many thanks to Denis for doing the right thing. That is absolutely fantastic news to hear.

Maybe I didn't explain that properly.
Brad told me that when developing his pipes they used R/H as a base and then modified from there.
So NO, they are not R/H pipes modified. They are made for Freedom by Bub.
But they are based on the R/H design with Freedom modifications built by Bub.

Which for me means they a modified version of the R/H design.
Chief tell Brad that's what I said that he told me if you like.
As much money as I have spent at his store you can believe I know what I bought!

Chip,

Thanks for clearing that up. It's pretty obvious from looking at their pipes that there is some Rinehart blood in them.

Thanks for the clarification.

i'm impressed about the rinehart customer service ....and it seems like zippers are #1 in satisfaction too...

so i'm gonna take my new pipes and jerry rig them along with disabling my acr which i'm still not sure of the function of to get my 30k bike running properly...and then wait on fixes, which i believe will happen....but its just not how i expected it to go.

i will procede with this plan and hope it doesn't backfire on me...

this forum frickin rocks....shared info like this is to all the end users benefits!!

[highlight]i sure hope to meet up with some of you in the future[/highlight].

Well I just pulled the trigger and the Rineharts & Power Commander are "in the mail" should have them next week sometime. My question to all is how well will the adv. map for the 96" with this set up work for the PC on the 110" until I get it dyno'd and custom mapped? The way I see it it's gotta be better than the way the bike is set up stock. What does everyone think?

If you got it from FuelMoto, the 96" map they use works fine in my 110. It does smell a bit rich, but seems to run fine.
