Finally have a 15 CVO RGU
« on: December 31, 2014, 01:29:30 PM »

To be perfectly honest, I almost pulled the trigger on an Indian Roadmaster because of all the problems with my 14 Ultra Limited. I was done with MOCO!
I got weak when I saw the new RG and bought another HD. I really hate the front end look of the Indian but the ride was great.
Anyway, the bike arrived at the dealer with a dented fender and the saddle bag lid had a bad paint job. The dent in the fender, I understand. The bubbles in the paint of the bag lid, I don't. Both have been replaced, very quickly I have to say.

After reading many of the posts here, looks like MOCO doesn't give a ((()() about their owners. Wonder if I should have gone Indian but Polaris scares me.

This is my 4th new HD. Still not completely impressed but it is the best I have owned yet. Look, at 40K it should be damn near perfect..... It's not.

I don't mean to bash HD but if potential buyers are thinking that if they spend 40K they will get the best of the best......be careful.

That's sound advice mongenix... Not sure I'd call it bashing necessarily, but many on this forum have expressed their 'disappointment' with what the MoCo is delivering for their 'top of the line' scoots these days. Reading through the archives here is enough to give anyone apprehension on a CVO purchase.

Welcome from Virginia. That paint is real soft also. Mine is not sure about all the others. Watch what you wipe it with.

I don't know that any of us are actually thinking about quality when buying a CVO..  They sure do look Purdy though..   :2vrolijk_21:

That's the first I have heard about it. It does explain why I keep getting a scuff/haze where my thigh touches tank. I polish it out easily. I also have some 3m clear paint protector film that I plan to apply to the offending spots on both sides. Hopefully that will prevent future chaffing.

Shouldn't have to do this, but oh well.

This is my fourth touring CVO.  This is the only one that after a 200 mile day shows scratches on the tank.  My 12 less  scratches on the tank where your thighs touch after 40K miles than this new bike does after 2K.  I have had to polish them out four times now and only have 7100 miles on the bike.
