Dormant rider returns, FLHXSE2, KC, MO
« on: December 29, 2006, 06:07:25 PM »

Brought the SERK3 home after about a 3-hour negotiation with the sales department.  I actually found one that wasn’t pre-sold.  I think I won in the end.  I rode into the driveway and my daughter came walking out with helmet in hand so she got the first ride.  Two days later I underwent surgery (planned) so my riding time is a little restricted right now.

I live in Dallas, GA (just a little west of Atlanta).  I’m active duty Army  [smiley=army.gif] so I move a lot, this is our 7th location in 10-years.  I’ve also deployed a few times:  Korea, Bosnia, Kosovo, and a year in Baghdad.

I was doing some research in v-twinforum.com and someone referenced this forum so here I am.  I’m anxious to start some searches in order to learn more about:

A. Other members in the Atlanta area
B. Relevance of the crossover pipe to other exhaust systems
C. And of course the ever popular threads on exhaust with the perfect noise/horsepower combination for the new 110”

dereck,
Welcome aboard!!! We are glad you found us and joined. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Congrats on your new scooter, may you have many safe and enjoyable miles on it. That is great that you and the daughter get to bond like that. You will find a great bunch of members in here that are willing to help at anytime. The knowledge that can be found here beats any dealership in the country hands down.

Also I'd like to thank you for serving our country and protecting our freedoms. [smiley=2vrolijk_21.gif]

Welcome to the site dereck, glad you found us.

Looks like you have the usual suspects as far as early mods go.  Glad you were able to work a deal on the one you found in stock.

Likewise to d00d, I would like to thank you and your fellow servicemen for your service to our country.

Happy New Year [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Derek,

Welcome to the site from a Marietta member.  Congrats on a great looking bike.

I'm pretty new here also, just got my new scoot Friday before Christmas.  I've got a whole 32 miles on her now.  [smiley=pepper.gif]

I see you've already found the thread of our GTG up in Cartersville. It was a lot of fun and we'll surely be doing another one in the future.

This is a really awesome site with tons of good information, and even more opportunities to spend money on chrome and performance items.

Shoot me a PM if you want to hook up and ride.

Cheers!

Welcome Dereck,

This is a great site for CVO information.  Also, thanks for your service to our country.

I am currently investigating exhaust systems as well.  You will find some great infor here from those who have already been there and done that.  Here is one thread that I have started that may be of use to you...

Good luck and I hope you are recuperating very fast from your surgery.
