3/4" axle and 25mm or 1" front wheel
« on: December 31, 2014, 11:33:58 PM »

My son has a softail that uses a 3/4" axle. He bought the wrong wheel either a 25mm or 1" sealed bearings. He has a 6 speed with electric spedo. I found spacers that allow 3/4" axle to be used with the other size wheel bearings. I did not see instructions on site. Do new wheels use spacers between the bearings like the older Timken style? How do we set it up?

There is a spacer in the wheel between the bearings. The 3/4" adapters typically need to be pressed into the 1" bearings. These typically have a shoulder on them so special spacers are required to properly center the wheel between the fork legs. The rotor to brake alignment is critical.

Ok Thanks. I also found bearings from All Balls Racing
Bearings that have 3/4" inside diameter and the correct outer diameter to fit the new wheels. Anyone know about these?
