110" "B" Spark/Gas without Harley wiring harness?
« on: January 06, 2015, 12:39:06 PM »

Guys, still investigating my next project and it looks like a "B" 110" is in my future for it.

My problem is that I don't want to have to be tied into the Harley wiring harness and ECM.  If I went to a carb, which seems to be a simple enough conversion, is there a standalone ignition controller available for the Twin Cam motor?

I know, the first suggestion will be to keep the fuel injection and ECM harness as it will run a lot better etc etc etc...

If there were a simple control management system to keep the original FI on the "B" motor and ignition, I would be all for it, but I doubt there is.  My thoughts are that an ignition would be easier to do as a standalone and just can the FI for a carb.

Any thoughts?

This will not be used in a motorcycle per say.

Thanks in advance.

On another note.  I could sell you real cheap a carb wire harness off a 99 Dyna TC.  Probably with a crane ignition attached but I would exhaust EFI first.

That most basic I have found and used is the thunder heart set up.
only a few wires to hook up if I recall. Software is part of the deal so you can make a custom ign curve. Price wise not bad in my opinion.
