Bought a 14 Limited late last fall and put the bike away in cold storage.

Yesterday went into the trailer and there are two anti-freeze puddles. wtf...

Anyone else find this? Maybe due to shrinkage of hoses or clamps should be tighter? I didn't notice any drips last fall when it was warmer.

A lot of thinks shrink when COLD.........

maybe, expansion pushed it out the overflow. big temp changes in that trailer? wishful thinking since I do not want problems with mine.

I searched for anti-freeze leak and came up with nothing so if anyone finds it, it would appreciated.

Hey BoB, I am pretty sure there was a recall at one time around the coolant leak problem.......check your Vin at a HD dealer.

And as odd as this may sound adding some quality stop leak is not a bad idea. OEM manufactures have been doing this for years. Weepage is a common issue and that is where the stop leak comes in at.

The alumaseal liquid is a great product. Have run it in all the kids quads for years. As most times you can have one area where it will stain and build a a small amount of crud at a connection. 1 -2 oz in a small system will get the job done.

Just wait you will see that HD has RACE coolant and ULTRA cool products along with a sealer...

its real common in all vehicles that if they just sit in real cold weather they leak coolant. trucks, cars, heavy equipment... motorcycles.

my old honda 1200 way way back - would leak antifreeze when it was below zero.... but was tight above 40

so - could be a problem - but it might not be.

Check with your dealer and see if your bike has the recall (or any others). If so they will fix it for free. Mine has never done this but she also doesn't sit more than a week (cold and wet) and it is in a garage so it not as cold as just sitting outside.

It doesn't matter how long it sits, or how cold it gets, if the hoses are leaking there is a problem that can and should be corrected under warranty.  As for it being normal for coolant hoses to leak in cold weather, that hasn't been true for decades in my experience.  Widespread use of high quality constant tension clamps eliminated that sort of problem.  If the clamps used by Harley are the proper design for the hose size and material, they should not leak when cold.  Period.

I hope I don't jinx myself, but I haven't touched mine since I parked it Christmas eve and no leaks since then. I also agree there shouldn't by ANY seepage from sitting, if there is ... something is loose.

I'd have to agree with GRC also although I would not be surprised if some of the dealerships told people experiencing the problem that "it is normal", unfortunately. Even if it were normal, I would have to stop it if it was happening and I owned the bike. Maybe HD intends on releasing a braided line kit as an upgrade fix.

GM calls the pellets but all the same.. GM PART#3634621. 

 Like it or not its the way it is.. I am not saying that it should be that way.  Jerry  I agree it should not ever leak. But then again tons of things that should not be the way they are..

But being that way things get made today you can fight the good fight and waste your time or take one oz of preventive maintenance  and never worry about the issue. 

I am betting that in time you will see pump failures, then its going to be about adding a new item to lubricate the pump.. See this in cars as well..

 Dex cool used in other application had some major issues,.. so out comes the next greatest coolant.. Round and round it goes..

First hand dealing with a customer that bought a 15 CVO  , he has delt with the dealer now for a extremely little stain near a connection. It would leak as it cooled down.  He feels the same way it should not do this. However dealer's ( yes 3) will not warranty it as it stated ok even to HD tech dept. So you have a 45,000 dollar bike and it has an issue. One would think they would correct it.. HD is new to this so maybe in time more updates. But for a dealer they have stock parts to swap and that is it. If they swap them and it still does it well now that is normal 

1 oz alumaseal. Problem solved. That simple , he has spent 3 months dealing with it.. Maybe its just too simple or some want to fight about the rights and wrong.. cannot tell you.. But if I owned one I would do it right out the gate and never worry about it.
