I'm losing my Dad. Greatest man I have ever known. 93yo hero. He also must have been a magician.....he got me to manhood and I was as twisted as a yo-yo string.
While sitting at his bedside today a memory popped into my mind that had been long since forgotten. Pulled up to his fishing cabin on a '69 chopped Triumph Trident. He had never been on a bike before then and not since, but when I said "lets go for a ride' he said "OK". Got too the main road and went for bout a 10 mile loop. We got back to the river and I said "well, how was it?" He said "I'm not sure, when we got on the blacktop I looked down and we were doing 80....I had my eyes closed the rest of the way!" I would give anything to be able to take him on another ride. He flew 103 missions as a Flight Engineer on a B24-J Liberator during WWII. Forever my Hero.
