Had a simular situation with them. They were to pick up the bike on a day they had specified, the seller took off work to be there and they did not show all day. After a few heated calls, I found a manager who promised they would be there the next day, again no show. I called H D and told them to just cancel it and I would never make that mistake again, a few minutes later someone called back from H D and said he was very sorry but they were at the mercy of subcontractors but to give him until Monday afternoon to get it picked up. They called the seller Monday morning and said they would be there at 10:00 am, didn't show. Finally after more calls screaming and cusing, they tell me the seller had canceled for that day when they called him to say they were on their way. What they did not know up to then was that he was on the line with us and unloaded on the lady. He had waited three days and they still had never shown up and he never canceled them ever. At that point they had the local dealer go pick up the bike, at about 5:00 and had a shipper pick it up from the dealer. It did show up in Memphis a couple of days later on Allied Van Lines.
[highlight]To make a long story short, I have shipped motorcycles 1/2 dozen times and never had a single problem using Allied every time, the one time I didn't, it was a nightmare.

Thanks JC
I read all of the posts and will give them a call tomorrow, if we do end up getting the bike, I will have them ship it. I finally got Suzanne convinced to quit riding the Fatboy and move up to a SEEG, you know from a VW to a Cad'ie [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

The fender has been on order for about six weeks.

Several members of this site have been in contact with me about putting together a west coast ride next year (they'll not be able to make it to Nelson either, due to conflict with dates).

not a convention.

You wear suits to conventions.  And spend your nights with strangers in bars.  Nelson is going to be a ride.  With evenings full of old and new friends and tires to kick and stories to tell.  Won't be a convention, it'll be a party!
