Just got my 09 SERG about 3 weeks ago.  Needed a more comfortable seat for my BSR so I went with the new HD hammock seat.  Don't have any long rides on it yet, but I like it so far, but my BSR definitely likes it.

It's not a new SERG.  But no one specified.  So screw it; here's a Classic SERG for the mix:

Damn, just realized don't have any good pics that are current or fully dressed.  Need some with lowers on and the color matched bag latches and a/c cover.  Oh, and the swept floorboards too.  Probably other small bits; who knows....  :nixweiss:

King pak and it's backrest.  Also have a maroon pad on the detachable sissy bar for when no tour pak is on it.  But no pics of that at all.  Must be slipping...

Here's mine with the Saddlemen Explorer seat.  Raised me up some and I think forward just a little but seems pretty good otherwise so far.  Have only ridden it about 50 miles with it on so I can't give a good opinion of it but I think I'll like it.  The windshield is the 15" CB dark gray but I wish I had got one an inch or two higher.

Highjagger, Hello from Texas !

I would like to have a front fender chrome lip moulding. Can't seem to find one... Do you have a suggested source. And, I would appreciate pics of that front fender to show off that chrome trim.

Thanks in advance, nice ride !
Glad to see you got the fastest color.

HD signature

How comfortable is that HD Signature.?  Does it seat you lower in the saddle..? I'm 5'9 and prefer a saddle that drops me down a bit like the Corbin Classic Solo.

I'm veering away from the Corbin though due to quality concerns I've experienced in the past and from what I've been reading here.

The signature pushes you up about 1" , it`s a good seat for tall riders . But not for small riders i guess .

Seat looks great, can you compare to the stock seat? Seating position, height, comfort, reach to handlebars, etc, etc.

Corbin solo with backrest and HD rack(also have the 50's pillion for it).  Don't have any complaints with quality or fit of any Corbin I have purchased.  When I ordered this one they were very helpful and shipping was on time.

I'll take that bet.  The Road Glide is discontinued for 2010.  2009 is the last year it will be made.

Gordy,

How is the Corbin Solo for comfort on the long rides?   Does it move you up or back comapared to the stock seat?  I like the look of the Corbin on the '09 SERG, but I know the Mustang is a comfortable seat(at least for me) on the longer runs as I have on my FLHRCI.
Thanks,

I'll take that bet.  The Road Glide is discontinued for 2010.  2009 is the last year it will be made.

No one outside the MoCo knows that for sure.  The docs seen all say the FLTR designation is discontinued.  Says nothing about the FLTRSE4 designation that would be a next SERG.  Nor something like an FLTRT that might be a Road Glide full Touring.  All we know is that we don't know.

It's easy to assume we know much from little.  It's smarter to realize we know little and consider alternatives from there.

Gordy, if I may,
the Corbin Classic solo is, IMHO, the best long distance riding seat I have ever rode. The One on my New SERG, well it was new, is no different. Had a Mustang once, didn't like the look, but again, JMO.

I got my Danny Gray Big seat installed.  So far I like it, but really only have 100 miles on it in one sitting with out getting up.  I did get the gel inserts.   I think I am going to like it for the long trips.

The above picture is with out the seats rider back rest, but with the tour pac.

I put 100 miles on it in with out stoping.  Seems about the same or a little better than the mustang I have on my fatboy.  The shape is way better than the mustang.

I do have the gel inserts on the seat.  I also have the rider back rest for the seat.

I think I am really going to like this seat.

That a boy, step right out there and take a chance. but, you live in the land of chance. the new corbins don't take nearly as long to break in. the stitched top helps that. I have about 5500 miles on my seat, 7200 on the bike. the seat is soooooooocomfy, that I ride without the backrest often.

I got my Danny Gray Big seat installed.  So far I like it, but really only have 100 miles on it in one sitting with out getting up.  I did get the gel inserts.   I think I am going to like it for the long trips.

The above picture is with out the seats rider back rest, but with the tour pac.
Do the gel inserts make a lot of difference?  Never had a opportunity to ride a seat with gel, and wondering if there's any 'down-side' ?  :nixweiss: spyder

I really do not have enough miles on the seat to give a real good answer.  I have about 600 miles on it, with 200 being the longest one sitting.  It is not as hard as a corbin.  I think it feels better than the mustang solo on my fatboy.  It does seem that the pressure is more equal thru out my butt.  It does not feel soft or squishy.  At this point I do not see a down side to it yet, and I believe I will be able to stay in the seat longer than my mustang.  I think the Gel may help as this is a thin seat as you can see, but it feels more plush than the stock thin seat.

Thanks Chip.

I have always liked mustang, but it just did not seem to look right on this bike.  The mustang solo for this bike would have moved me up 1.5" also, and I did not want that.  So I was going for looks, but wanting comfort also, and in the past corbin has just been to hard for me, but a great seat.  I think this one is what I was looking for.

Is that just standard leather?  It looks like buffalo or some other "rough" hide.  Is it custom?

I ordered a Danny Gray seat with gel insert and decorative stitching for $439 (no backrest). It is absolutely gorgeous, but they mistakenly sent one for the older 1997 -2007 FLTR.  I am now awaiting the replacement which should arrive next week. I'll post pics when the new one arrives. I still have the 97-07 if anyone is interested. Otherwise, it'll be picked up by UPS when the new one arrives.

Here in switzerland, dealers know nothing about the problems with the saddle!
I'm rying to deal with mine and keep you informed.

I'm trying a Saddlemen's explorer seat and a Mustang so once I make up my mind I'll probably sell the other one in case anyone is looking for one of these.

Any more info/pixs on the C & C seat.  Curious to know how it handles longer rides.
