True. Lots to consider besides cams when doing an engine build Still surprised at what I saw given some of the negative reviews on this site regarding the 259E cams.

IMO, most builds I've seen @ 10.5 with the 259 the compression is set to conservative

Yep it was a real nice cam in a 110 with 10.8 compression, 5.3 injectors, 55 HPI throttle body and head work by HD Street Performance.  Real good low end torque and kept pulling, fun to ride.

The Kury TC 24D, GMR 600, T-Man 590 or 600SM, Zippers Red Shift 587 or 575.  They all have good points. Some may pull harder down low others pull all the way through the power curve. I just did a 113 build and didn't cut any corners. I could have gone with any cam I wanted but went with the TC 24D's. I am very happy so far. I do need to get it tuned.

Be Safe

THE DAWG

X-2 with the Dawg.. 24-D , S&S Premium lifters , shaved he heads about .040, ended up with 89 CC heads, 10.25-1 static compression . Very pleased with it!

TMan 600 cam,  TMan ported heads,  58 mm TB,  SE 10.5 pistons, S&S lifters,  Dark Horse bottom end, 10.5 to 1 compression, Dragos  2 into 1, TTS  Mastertuner tuned by Robin in Kansas City=   120/124

Runs pretty good.

Bastos, one thing that hasn't been mentioned is your exhaust choice. I am no expert but everything I've read is that your particular exhaust choice is going to do exactly what you don't want. Rineharts , while they sound good, kill the bottom end, that's why you see so many people going with a Fullsac system or a good 2 into 1.

I have used Mark.  At dynamic cycle in Boynton beach FL. . . Does a great job with the TTS. . Also uses direct link.  Really good guy too. . Stuart. . I'll also add that the kury cam is a great way to go too. .
Another  satisfied customer, Mark  is excellent. Takes his time and does it right. If the weather is not right, will wait for better conditions.  I would nor hesitate to use him again.

I have so far kept my stock SE255 cams.
Since I am an over the road trucker, I've been on the road and gone since I started this post.  I got home Friday night before Halloween, and put 1800 miles on the bike, did the 5K service and installed the V&H Power Duals head pipe. And with the Rinehart 4" slip on, my tuner got me 95 hp and 111 tq.
Yes, I left a little HP on the table with my choice of pipe.
So next I'll have a SE 117 kit installed and see what happens then.

Tuned at the Harley dealership in Brandon FL.
If I am not happy with the numbers after the 117 kit, I will go up and see DOC then.

Put a little compression in it and use a .030 head gasket.

I don't think they ran it for a base number.
