Gary...If you could share  the hospital information with us before you go in, it might be well served for us to offer our condolences to the attending nurses well in advance of your surgery.... ::)

It's funny how life kind of repeats itself with a twist of irony.
In our early years we were all looking for a New Hip Joint.
Now days we dread a New Hip Joint.

You'll do fine.
Just don't cheat yourself on the rehab.

Very  funny!

dood, best of luck.   One of my co-workers and golfing buddies has had both hips replaced plus a shoulder.  He has never felt better. Still plays a pretty mean game of golf too.

I broke my hip in May '04. They gave me 9 months - 5 years till I need a replacement. So far so good. I'm hopin' to get at least 10 0r more years out of it. I'm only 41. Ol' Motocross got me!

I think you leave it until you can't stand it anymore.  Every year there are advancements in the techniques used.  They are sure good now compared to even a few years ago.

I know d00d has pushed it as far as it will go from what he describes.  I'm in the smae boat, just keep waiting 'til it gets to the point I can't enjoy what I do without constant pain, as it is now it only hurts some of the time..............when I'm awake ;D

Hips.  WOW!  Renea and I can share one heck of a story about a broken hip.  Almost three years ago our now 17 year old broke her left hip.  It was a clean break of the ball of the hip joint from the femoral neck.  She was in a skating accident.  This is what it looked like the night she broke it.
