They should go after the author of the book referenced earlier recommending duct taping things in a dogs mouth for a couple hours.

Way I see it, your dog removed all of your options.  if he'd gotten out and killed the neighbors cat you'd have gotten a ticket (and a pissed off neighbor).

A friend of mine told me about his Rotweeiler, watched him take off hit the fence, yelp then get up and shake and freedom on the other side. Tough guy. But for most the invisible fence works fine. I guess there is always gonna be the hard head. ;D

Beags,

You could run the invis fence around the length of your fence instead of burying it, so if the dog gets out of its kennel that you have built when it gets within 2 feet of the fence it will get a warning sound then shock if they continue to go closer.  Yes the dog has to wear a collar, but you go through the motions of teaching them where they can and cant go in respect to the fence.   I had used this until I was able to put up my fence around my yard and it works.

Biggs,

I have no advice but my wife and I laughed like crazy about the story.  I always wanted a Boxer but settled for a Boston Bull instead.
