Well its a small world, we were stateside last week for 3 weeks and we all got on about English and American speaking and I do struggle with all the abbreviations you use in the US. But then again our American pals did not understand some of ours "Fortnight" was one. I will go and rub my side stand bracket now...

thanx again

Aup Lous,

Yep all these words, I have just rubbed my hand all over the Chrome Jiffy Stand Bracket and it all feels smooth to me? Can't find Any embossed lettering how about yours as it will be a 2009 Europe Model will it not ?

I have just found out that I need a disc and some leads to connect the SE PRO Race Tuner I bought the Tuner Stateside but no discs, Guess the HD dealers will have them in their workshops.

Bigderek

I too have the USE4 and I just had my jiffy stand bracket replaced by HD and it is significantly better than before.  Not nearly as much lean.
For the passenger floorboards I used the adjustments to set them nearly all the way up.  Now my wife says it is more comfortable and my kids can reach them also.
Good luck I hope you are able to fix the problems so that you love riding yours as much as I do mine.

I have used both the HD and JM headsets and I think you will find the JM system is much better than the stock Harley system. Additionally you can send your helmets to JM and they will install their system in their factory eliminating the clamp at the lower part of the helmet. this makes a much cleaner installation

Hiya Sleepybare,

yes I use JM on my goldwing th elite series and they are great apart from the  clap idea. If only we could send our helmets to JM in the UK its like talking to the wall trying to get good open faced helmets never mind Headsets! I like the Aria Szc helmets and we drove 425 from Fl Keys to Daytona Helmet shop, after checking that he had the XL and Med Szc in stock he confirmed he had and off we drove only to be told on arrival that they had sold em! Bluming charming extensively we had come 5.000 miles to be let down what a waster!
So I am looking at trying the Schuberth J1 with JM headsets. We have Aria Ram III at the moment but just dont seem to be getting on with them.

Cheers

Bigderek,

There is a kickstand upgrade available at no charge to you.  All you need to do is contact you HD Dealer Service Dept. and have them order the part below. If they have any questions about this,  have them contact HD Motor Company Service Dept. and give them the bike Serial no.   HD Motor Co. will send this part to the dealer and it will be HD Motor Co. expense to install this kickstand upgrade for you at no charge.  I just had this done about 3 weeks ago.  Dealer ordered part,  took 1 week to get it in,  installed it and I was happy.  I have included a pic of the part that you need for your bike.  My bike leaned over so far to the left I thought it was going to fall over.  and getting it off of the kickstand was no picnic either. Hope this helps.

Ride Safe and enjoy that bike   :2vrolijk_21:

Hiya Jimmy

thanks for the photo etc. I have been told today from our local HD shop that I have to bring my bike down to them so they can see the jiffy stand bracket. Then they will take it from there?

So I have just emailed them yje photo and I will take the bike as soon as I can...

thanks

It was on all 09 baggers built prior to Oct. 2, 08.  Here's the thread that I started......   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=30120.0

You can't see the "OE" lettering on the back side if the bracket is mounted on your bike.  Check your build date, if it's prior to 10/2/08 then you need the new bracket. :2vrolijk_21:

The new kickstand part to keep the 09s from leaning over too far was for the Ultra. I have one. I cant speak for the RG. Once Harley replaced the bracket all was fine and I didnt feel as tho I had to jerk it up off the kickstand

YES thanx for all the advise I have to take it to the HD dealer at weekend they want to see it so I am hoping if it does need new or different bracket they will do it FOC. I am getting use to it though now as I only have 29"legs but I am 6 foot 2inch high. You should see me when I struggle to get on my BMW GSA, But you adapt don't you.

Also I put some air in the tyres yesterday after spending a few hours cleaning those roulette wheels, What a tat Ta that is putting air in the rear Tyre Blimey I almost lost my fingers! I had a 90degree valve stem I use in the worksop threaded that on first to use as a elbow which enabled me to putthe gauge on to read the pressures! Then run em up 40psi Rear 36 front! Has anyone got any other methods of checking the rear tyre pressure?

I am in my workshop today fitting hinges and changing tour pack position and rack light!

I keep asking all these  questions hope you don't think I am thick?

I am soon to fit the VH Monster ovals and the SE pro Tuner, I have read a little about the 2009 UC EG CVO exhaust and some say you have to take out a cat? or a dog? "Only joking" what are they on about I thought if I slip the slip ons! as they are called on set them up with the race tuner via the Computer an all is Good? Is that not the case ?

Some pro advice would be welcomed

Thanking You
