I picked up my Jalepeno on Father's day June 19, 2005 (What a great Father's Day present, I must be doing something right).
Since then I have put just over 11,000 miles on it. Prior to June I was averaging less on my '02 Road King, about 8,000 ++ per year.  I haven't been on any trips longer than a three day weekend on the SEEG.  Can't wait till Cripple Creek, and I guess that will add some miles for 2006.

Not really keeping track, but I did the first time - it was 52 days - and that is burned into my memory, and then I have had to leave it at least twice more, once for 2 weeks and then once for 3 weeks.  Just did the math.  Please don't wish bad karma on me....... I have had more than any one bike rider should have this past year, and I am starting over this year with a clean slate.

Yeah 2006........... and lots of good, fun bike riding being planned.  It is going to be a great year.   [smiley=cherry.gif] [smiley=jalapeno.gif] [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] ;D

Mrs We, it may not have felt like it at the time but there has to be some good karma in the person whose bike is in the shop at least a fiscal quarter but who still rides more miles than 90% of the people there.

Thanks so much for that great vote of confidence.  I too think I really have great karma.  I mean, I am always having fun, I am always smiling.  :D Is that not good karma right there?   [smiley=nixweiss.gif]Twolane,  I think the trick is not in "How Much Do You Ride" in a year.  Long trips etc. can really rack up the miles. And I am not riding mine to just rack up the miles.  But rather I think of it more like "How Much Do You Ride, When You are Riding"?  Because we did a couple of rather longish trips last year, one to Myrtle Beach and back, one to Maggie Valley and back, we spent a great long weekend in Lynchburg for the VA State HOG rally and then we put 1500 miles each on three bikes during a little over a week from right here at home.  We don't very often come home from work and go for a short burn around or use the bikes as transportation to the corner store, but rather, once we pull out of the garage, we put on some very serious miles and enjoy our time.  We try to keep the home chores done up during the week so we can leave home early each weekend day.  Most days for us are in that 300 mile range if we are not going anywhere.  I know what you mean about compared to most, but then, I don't really compare to most.  One of the HOG chapters we joined late this year offered prises for the longest rider - male and female.  The male had something like 37,000 miles, but the female ------- only 8,000.  Of course, I was not playing since we had not started from the beginning of the year.  You know I will get my miles logged during the first meeting this month.

I get between 10k and 12k myself with a bad winter season. More if old man winter doesnt wake up as much ;D
Of course I try to use it to commute to the airport as much as possible, so when I fly home I can hop on and get in my ride before I get home eveyday.
And hell now that I'm hooked up with CVO riders group that should change bigtime!
Life is good, thank you lord [smiley=znotworthy.gif]

Haven't checked this thread in a while.  It's interesting to see how many different ways there are to accumulate miles. Someone can ride their bike to work everyday and rack up the same miles as someone that takes two or three trips a year.  Personally, I like to ride as much as possible, but like to vary the length of trips.  One major trip a year, several mid mile trips, some weekends, some days ride to work.  Our kids play baseball, soccer, etc, so that cuts in to spring Saturdays, and my work site can be dusty, so I don't ride to work as much as I would like. It all adds up to between 8K and 10K yearly.  I'm eligible to retire, just trying to decide when it's time to go, but when I finally do say adios, Beartooth Highway, here I come.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

spyder,
My baby is all safe and sound there, all day and all night when I get stuck if fog rolls in. All the airport security keeps a watchful eye out for me, and almost all the Barnstable P.D. finest do as well. [smiley=bigok.gif]

Response to the question about modifying the seat. I have riden Corbin seats for years. When I had to send the last two back for modifications, I tried a Saddleman. It is plush. The Corbin is better on Iron Butt rides.

I put on about 18k to 20k per year on avarage but I was laid off in 05 and I put 24500 on my two bikes. Longest trip was from S.Ill to montana, south to utah and back to S.Ill did 4000 miles in 9 days two up. Me and my wife take at least two week long trips about 3k per year and as many long weekend as our jobs will allow. And the riding season in S.Ill is 12 months a year!!!

In N Texas we can pretty much ride year round.  The last two years I have done between 12-15,000 a year, split between two bikes.  We have a couple of gals in our club, called the Iron Butt Sisters, and they put on 7-8 rides a year, some of them overnight.  I put on 700 miles this weekend, just to eat lunch Sat & Sun.  I thought about not putting too many miles on them, but then I decided, there was no reason to save them, I am not getting any younger.
