Very Odd as mine works fine - no issues at all. Maybe you caught a dud unit?
Cheers
Glen.
Sorry, Glen I wasn't clear... but here was my experience and it soured me on Kury all together.
Actually mine was fine as well when used as a brake lamp only. It seemed dim compared to the incandescent bulb in the OEM lamp, but it was OK. It wasn't until I tried to incorporate the run/brake/turn module that the real issues arose. I almost tore the bike apart trying to figure out what was wrong. Naturally I figured it was the Badlands module. When I called them they suggested the Kury lamp may be the issue, but i didn't believe them at first. After a couple weeks, numerous posts on this site and many calls to Badlands, Rick made me a deal.... he said he'd send me a new lamp free and if it didn't fix the problem he'd pay to have it shipped back to him... and if it worked, he'd bill me.
Once I got his unit I saw the difference in construction. The the back of the board on the Kury unit looked like it was siliconed by hand with a tube of clear silicone and compared to the Badland lamp... cheap! Even the Lens on the the Badland Lamp was thicker, clearer and more like crystal. More importantly the LED's in the Badlands unit will almost rip your retnas out when you hit the brakes. (I would admit though that the Kury lamp protrudes about 1/2" less)
As it turned out I installed the Badland unit and the problem was solved! Simple as that. I guess the chinese circuit board Kury used couldn't deal with the voltage regulation.
Maybe I did get a bad one... or maybe you got a good one... but for the same money... I wouldn't take the chance (actually I think the Kury was actually more $$)
