Glad your power is restored, Neal...   :2vrolijk_21:   We really are totally dependent on electricity, aren't we....

I remember years ago we had a bad ice storm. Trees all over power lines and could hear transformers blowing thru the night. First night wasn't bad, we all slept around the fire place and cooked off the grill. Every time you went into the bathroom, even though there was candles lite, I would find myself flipping the light switch! ;D Next day becoming more of an inconvenience. By the third night we had enough! Not fun anymore. Then seeing people behind us get their power and thinking were next...3 more days without power making it almost a week. Yuk! Still there were people that went 2-3 weeks. Hope and pray that not the case up there! :2vrolijk_21:

damn you guys up north loose power and the eye passed over the house here and we only lost power for 2 minutes :huepfenlol2:
Ya'll were the lucky ones this time Brian.  The eye fell apart which caused the winds to disapaite outward, thus causing more damage inland.  80 % of the residents in our county lost power...ours came back on last night after 4 days.  It was a strange hurricane, low cat but larger than most.  Blew here for a day and half before leaving.  Left a mess in a few counties (Pamlico, Craven, Lenoir, Wayne, etc.)  I gotta get a gen.  ::) har.  spyder

Power back on at 2100 last night. 56 hrs total (1300 Sun - 2100 Tues)  Still no cable TV. Lots of trees down and telephone poles snapped. Major damage on the lake was at the northern end with docks and boats piled up on the rocks reminiscent of Katrina photos I saw. The storm blew by my little cove on it's way up that way. Eight Belles and the Soup Deck rested easily on their moorings sheltered here on the west side of the lake. For my part, lots of blow down which I picked up and had a nice bonfire last night with. The rest got chopped up by ole John Deere, bagged and dumped in the woods.
Heading back west on on Monday Oct 3rd. Would love to stop and visit with the West By God Virginia folks. Otis or Hubbard, you see this, send me a PM and let's set up a day ride and some sittin around tellin each other lies about our motorsickles

Still no power going back to 2 AM Sunday. Have a generator but only 110 side never bought the 220 adapter for the generator so no well pump. A tree went through my neighbors house on one side and a tree took out 2 cars on the other side of me. Sucks. They say no power until possibly Monday. The pushed school off until next tuesday.
