I had Foremost for my Buick and Nissan and my '09 SERG.  I have Hagerty for my '76 FL Shovelhead.

All of this was through an independent agent locally.  I also had my house through them.

I ended up going to a State Farm agent about 1/2 mile from my house and asked for a quote.

I saved about $10 on the house, but overall I saved over $1400.  My '09 SERG went down over half from Foremost.

The odd thing was that when my wife called my original independent agent to tell him we were switching everything except the Hagerty for the '76, he was very upset with us.  He said that if we had let him know he would have been able to do something to lower our rates.  Why did he let us go on, more money in his pocket, that's why.

This is just like phone companies and cable companies.  They just keep upping the cost and unless you ask, they do nothing to drop pricing.  And then they say, "oh, we have this new plan that can save you money"...  Why didn't you tell me that so I could have been saving money for months now???

We're happy with State Farm and their prices.

As far as antique or classic car or bike insurance, I have always used Hagerty and been very happy.  I've had friends with claims and they've been taken care of in days from the accident without any issues or complaints.

GEICO $225 a year, w/$1000 deductible.  No citations.  No claims in over 30 years.  Switched from Nationwide, which was my Insurer for 30 years.  Actually, they ripped me off for 30 years.  Guess they had to pay Big Buck$ for the Nationwide Series!  Later--HUBBARD

Dairyland Insurance in MD, I pay $606 yearly for the wife and I on '12 SESG and '10 Fatboy Lo with $250 deductibles. It works out to $50.53 monthly, which went down from $63.63 last year. I paid $78 monthly when the street glide was new and it has gone down every year since.

Had Foremost for a while and they were good, but the price was going up a little every year. Called my Allstate agent and he cut it in half!

X-2 , then some

Just set up coverage for my new 2015 CVO Limited. Coverage for the bike and $2500 in upgrades. $324 per year full coverage with winter storage coverage Nov-March. I don't think that is bad at all. I have AAA for home, auto and life insurance. It is greatly dependent on where you live. My dad checked with them and they were very high for auto and home. He lives about an hour from me. Just 70 miles the rates can vary so much.

Just a question? Your US Insurance Plans are very attractive compared to ours in Canada. What do you guys have to carry $ for Liability Insurance?. Here in most parts of Canada we have to carry the minimum of $1,000,000 and most of us carry $2,000,000 for either auto and/or motorcycle coverage.

I would guess in a Litigious (lots of Lawyers, sue at the drop of a hat) country, you guys would carry the same amount of liability or more,

AARP is a rip. No violations. Zip. Been with them for years until I saw the big jump in rate. Why? Because of my "new" age bracket of being 55!!! WTF? Yes, very true. I was being punished for simply becoming 55! Are they not the Old Fogey insurance company? I tried like hell talking sense into them. Like talking to a robot. Same read answers. No thinking out of the box. I even gave them a ultimatum. I had been with them for 5 years...House, cars and motorcycles. Remove that ridiculous rate increase or I will have to shop and possibly cancel my policies. So I had the privledge of calling them up and said " I saved over 15% on my Car, motorcycle and home insurance by switching to Geico" ! Then after they lost a very good customer in myself, they actually tried to get me to come back! WTF? After all that grunting around, after the fact of losing my business,  they now had a better plan for me? Hell no. Now with Geico and very happy. Some very fair rates for my 2015 Street Glide CVO. By the way, from Washington state. Home of the "let's give WA. drivers license's to non US citizens with no insurance coverage". One state that commands one of the highest insurance rates in the US. Don't let me start about state assistance abuse too. Anyway, give Geico a shot. Good folks there.

My insurance from Foremost jumped $100 this year too to $500.  I was looking at Dairyland and Progressive. Might look at Geico based upon you post.

The meaty chunk of my premiums is uninsured or underinsured motorists. We have so many people driving in the state of Washington without car insurance and we a mandatory car insurance state...then on the flip side, motorcyclists without a lien holder do not have to have it at all! Regardless, I always ride and drive fully insured. Look into Geico. I think you will be surprised with their rates and customer service.
