Hey, CVORG. Biketronics makes good stuff, as good as Arc amps and Focal speakers. I have the BT 7.1 fairing and 7.1 pod speakers, with the 4180 amp. It is a big improvement over the stock set up. But now, I don't think I'll ever upgrade motorcycle stereos again for a couple reasons. First and foremost, I usually only use the stereo on the freeway, not around town. I can't hear traffic and sirens as well with the music blaring, plus I hate listening to other people blaring their unwanted noise in town, and I don't feel like blasting my music into other people's faces. Just a matter of respect for others. The stock system is okay for just cruising around, unless your reason for upgrading the sound is to shake windows for attention.
If you ride mostly in town or on country roads, upgrading your sound with Biketronics parts will give you more, cleaner volume. Whether or not that's worth $1500 or not is up to you. But I drive 95% on freeways, and I don't believe anyone can get GOOD sound at 70+ mph and above. Bass is not great, but again, better than stock. Maybe the bags with 6x9s help the bass?
I can't comment on the 6x9s, except generally. I had a '12 CVO SG, and found the bag speakers (and lower fairing speakers) to be not worth replacing. They're just too hard to hear at freeway speeds because of their locations. Also, there are no gain controls on the amp, so if the speakers aren't well matched, you won't be able to adjust them, except through the head unit.
Good luck with whatever you do.
