Oh ya, I have a full 113 build with cams porting, high compression and crank work. The actual build was designed for a 58 mm TB I just could not budget it last year. All this work will now complete the build, finally. Should be making 220/220
Just kidding, around 120/125 I hope. Was making 110/ 119 last year. Will see what the dyno says this coming summer.
My 110 had T-Man ported heads, 10.5 T Man pistons running a 660sm set of cams. Had a HPI 58 mm throttle body and 5.3 injectors. Crank was done by Dark Horse. It ran great, in fact I made 100 ft/lbs of torque at 2500 rpms. Ended up on the dyno 122 hp and 120 torque. Was running a Fulsac DX headpipe with 4 inch Rineharts. Had it built and tuned by Doc's Performance in Fl.
Didn't like the valve train and throttle body noise and ended up selling the bike, but it ran very well, even down here in the heat of SW Fl.
Beak, I just completed a near identical build; 110c.i. (still); Dan Vance Racing 110 heads; S&S beehives; SE 10.5 pistons, 030 cometic; TM660SM cams; SE58TB 'ported'; SE 5.3 inj; Ventilator AC; Dragula w/2.55 baffle; Scorpion VPC; GMR tuned
120/118. The 660cam is the torque monster of all, torque "curve" is near flat, 100tq@2200. all these same pieces but other cams will get you bigger peak #s but this bottom end is awesome for touring.
Fixup: you WILL need to address the clutch.
THIS post confused me:
Hey CRider What I have ( 113 SE pistons, 10.5 to 1 comp, ported heads by J Precision in Quebec, S&S 585 gear cams cams. Fueling lifters cam plate and oil pump. Balanced and welded crank ) all worked very good and made 108 hp and 118 T. Then I changed to the pro pipe and the 58mm and injectors. Right away the bike ran like a turd. Went to the tuner and he could not get it working under 3 grand. Above 3 grand made exactly what I was shooting for 120 HP and 125 T But unridable in the real world. Tuner tried every thing to smooth it out. Would not work. Said the intake is to large and the velocity through it at low rpm's is to slow for the sensor to run things correctly. Told me to go back to the stock TB and injectors so I did, and everything returned to normal. So the moral of the story, do the build but forget about the 58. Now I have my 120 120 ( lost 5 FPT ) but I am still very happy and the bike is ridable. Oh the pro pipe is loud, but made me more power than true dual Rinehats.
Uhmm... what? Aren't you posting here about adding the 58TB?
I must have missed something in the who-posted-what area of this thread, but anyway, the "turd" comment I'll bet has to do with the injectors, NOT the TB. WHICH injectors did you try? If they were the pink-banded 6.7s, THAT is what was wrong. I tried a set and they were crap on the bottom (but, screamed on top) and then one failed and I switched to the 5.3s.
Steve at GMR tells me the pink 6.7s are one of the few "race labeled" items that REALLY ARE race-only. They are built for actual drag bikes with little joy for idle or part-throttle. He said they are fairly impossible to tune for the street as they are really not made for it. The TB is not "too large", there are thousands of them out there running fine, with`suitable injectors.
