Seems somethings never change.  GA-SC boarder up past Walterboro was extremely heavily patrolled in the mid 90's when I was Stationed in SC, remained that way in the Late 90's and early 2000's when I was stationed in Jacksonville FL, as I use to go up to Charleston every other week end.  Just knew to never be more than 3 over on the Interstate or 17 or 17A unless you wanted a ticket.

Yea, like most electronics, the radar/laser detector has came a long way in the past few years.

So curious Mike.....what speeds were you running before?  ;D

Anywhere from 20 to 60 MPH over.

My last ticket was on the way to Maggie Valley last year. 88 in a 55.  Guy felt sorry for my dumb a$$ and dropped it to 69 in a 55.  I was lucky he didn't have to e to haul me in.

Radar detector wouldn't have helped,  rideI was enjoying the so much I didn't even notice the blue lights behind me, he pulled up beside me and hit his siren. I saw him then.   :nixweiss:
that's when you really enjoy! the miles and minutes just click on and you do not even notice.

When I rode from Charlotte, NC to Coronado, Ca, 2,500 miles in 2 1/2 days.....I rode the speed limit every mile of it!  :P

Let me just add that I'm glad I had a damn good radar/laser detector. :2vrolijk_21:

Yeah, every bit of the speed limit and then some. But I know that was only downhill. Only problem, the whole trip back was downhill.

I know Walterboro well.  I pass through there three or four times a year going to Edisto.

I also have family that lives there.  Some of you have met my cousin, Tim, at the MV gatherings.  He catered our BBQ's a couple of times.  He also owns a resturant in Walterboro.
