I agree Chief, but with so many issues to deal with unfortunately, you learn to worry about the important ones. Blown engines are of more concern to me than fuel gages. I'm not belittling those who like their instrumentation, I'm just used to not having much or any.
Hoist! 8-)
Well, it's not like the number of blown engines comes anywhere near the number of useless fuel guages, and its not like the 07's are the first model year to experience exponential fuel needle movements.
I just think that we as a group of Harley owners are to easily placated with a dealer's response of "They all do it" when we bring up an issue whether it be the lousy fuel gauges, fogging instruments, broken inner fairing brackets etc.
If we continue to accept poor quality, especially on the little stuff, I guess we'll have to get more accustomed to getting poor quality, which leads to stuff like blown engines.
I just don't see the difference between a useless Air Temp gauge, unreliable fuel gauge and a blown engine. They all are direct consequences of poor quality.
But then again, it's a Harley. They all do it.
Cheers,
Chief
